Helix Native 3.70 crashes ProTools (Mac)

Hello,

I just updated Helix Native to 3.70 and now when ProTools (2023.9) attempts to instantiate it, the app crashes. I have had a similar issue in the past and it was solved by an uninstall/reinstall of Helix. That did not work this time. Neither did wiping all traces of Helix from the machine and starting over with installing only the AAX version. Has anyone discovered a solution for this?

I hope I'm not repeating another thread, but I have not been able to find a clear answer about this issue, especially in regard to Macs.

Thanks!

Just installed Helix Native and trying to get it to work with GarageBand.  First I found after many tries and some web surfing that I MUST check the Settings/General/"Open plug-ins in Controls view by default" box, or else GarageBand crashes immediately after selecting LIne6 Helix Native plug-in.    However, I get the display below instead of expected Helix UI.  I saw one posting the indicated there should be some edit/controls selection next to the Manual field, but as you can see there is no option for this.  Many hours fussing what should have been straightforward and obvious.  macOS Monterey 12.7.1, GarageBand 10.4.8.  Any ideas?

Hi,

Seems strange to see a GarageBand question in a Pro Tools thread?

Anyhow, every time anyone has asked about this before, the solution is that you MUST NOT check the box in the Preferences panel.

I can’t think of a reason why that would have changed.

See example here:

Hope this helps/makes sense.

Oh, look - here’s one from last year!
