njc235
Helix LT + Variax - I'm trying to create a B-bender using exp1 or 2 (2 is a Mission Line 6 pedal) to control the pitch of a single string on the variax. It works but it crackles and steps instead of being a smooth curve. Glen DeLaune has solved it but doesn't seem to be sharing his solution. Anyone else got any ideas? Sorry, I don't have the solution for you or I would share it. I suspect the solution may be in Workbench 2 (Variax software) as much as it is in the Helix EXP settings. brue58ski
Changing the Variax string pitch goes up and down in steps. Not smoothly. It could be you're hearing it "step" through the notes. How many crackles do you hear? Is it the same amount as how many steps the Variax must go through to get to the next note? Which definitely leads me to wonder what Glen DeLaune did. I would suspect he's using the pitch bender in the Helix except for the fact that it would bend all of the notes, not just the B. Sidenote here, I recently ran into a guy performing who owned and was using the second B bender ever made. At least that's what he said. This post talks about and addresses exactly what you are doing. There's a patch in there. I have not personally tried it.

I have a lot of his presets but this isn't among them and I can't find a reference to it on his site.

It's a recently resurrected thread from Jan 2018... https://line6.com/support/topic/31186-b-bender-effect/ Glenn started the thread then answered himself suggested it was solved. Then crickets :)
