DdC441
Because Line 6 doesn't offer a standalone version, I'm trying to get Helix Native to run in stripped-down DAW-like apps like Hosting AU and Audacity on my MacBook Pro Max. HN loads with no problem, but all of the presets including "Empty" ones all have the guitar pick of death next to them. I am logged into my Line 6 account, but the only authorization-type offered in "Deauthorize my computer." HN runs fine on my various DAWs, and I have 5 activations left on my account, but I'd like a stand-alone type option or get as close to it as possible. Has anyone else been able to get such a setup to work? Thanks!
PierM
What is the pick of death? Error code?
silverhead
I believe he’s referring to the golden guitar pick that is displayed alongside a preset that was purchased in Helix Marketplace. It indicates that the preset is protected and needs authorization. Your Line 6 account knows that you own the asset (or not) so you need to login to your Line 6 account within Helix Native to gain authorization. If your Line 6 account does not reflect your ownership the preset cannot be accessed.

silverhead
Well, ‘death’ is a bit of hyperbole….. But perhaps some people take guitars a bit too seriously…..

DdC441
Just to put a bow on things in case others have this issue... I had registered and signed in to Line 6. My problem was Helix Native was set to "Helix" hardware compatibility. I have a HX Stomp XL and bought Native with that discount, so no presets in "Helix" mode were available. I figured out how to turn off hardware compatibility or set it to Stomp XL mode, and all the nasty golden picks went away giving me access to the presets that came with Native. Thanks! I did not know that. Thanks for posting.
