HX Stomp and Gigrig G3S - Midi CC Bypass question.

Hey,

Im using a Gigrig G3S with a HX stomp. Im treating bank 99 on G3S as a stompbox/pedalboard bank where preset/button 1 is my core town, button 2-10 are loops of the G3S that i can engage like stomboxes.
I want button 11 to send a Midi CC to the stomp to turn turn on Tremolo block on HX stomp. Im sending midi CC# 6, with value 127 to do this.

The problem I'm having is this midi number is only turning on the pedal. I know this is cos Im using the on value which is 127.
How do I set up my midi messages up so that on second press of button 11 on G3S it sends midi CC# 6 with value of 0 and therefore turns off the tremolo block?

Hope this makes sense! Cheers,

Jake

If you can program the G3S to have the same button send different alternating commands with repeated presses then you can use that. But you may have to use two buttons on the G3S, one programmed to turn the block ON and the other to turn it OFF. The HX Stomp cannot be configured to recognize repeated presses of G3S button 11 to act as a toggle/bypass switch.

I just had a look at the G3S manual and AFAICT there is no way to use a FS to send Toggling CC messages. You MIGHT be able to fake it with the Exp Pedal Heel/Toe settings, but it is not a satisfactory solution. You'll need to use two buttons, one sending 0 and the other sending 127. The G3S is a brilliant analog switching device, but this is what happens when analog guys try to do MIDI. It's ALMOST good.
