croSSed
Hey all. Been using HD500X for years as my only sound source. Plugged into a PA with other instruments in the mix it has worked fantastic, or for recording with lots of stuff in the mix. I just purchased a very nice tube amp. I want to use my HD as a multi FX device through the amp in the loop, but I'm also aware that some FX sound better in the front of the amp (e.g., wah) and others sound better in the loop (e.g., delay). If I run the maximum 8 FX on my POD into the loop, how do I account for the signal of some FX being "weird?" Is there a certain way to set up the signal chain internally in the POD? Thanks for any help.
hurghanico
What you need is to use the "4 cable method", which will allow you to configure some POD effects in front of your amp and others in the FX loop of the same amp. Try doing a search online for "4CM", and/or read the article on the topic that I have already written on my forum website dedicated to POD, here is the link: 4 Cable Method _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
croSSed
Thanks for the response. I've looked into the 4-cable method, and you're right, it's what I need to use. It does bring up another question though: If I'm using the 4-cable method where do I insert any analog FX (stompbox)?

You can insert analog pedals anywhere you like depending on where you want them in the signal chain, pre-amp, in FX Loop, or post-amp. In the 4-cable method you basically have 4 cables/lines. Depending on where you want to insert your physical pedals using additional cables you can insert them into any of the 4 main lines above. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
