Broken LT expression Pedal

My LT's expression pedal just broke. Very disappointing - I've had the unit for a few years but I've never used the pedal much. I haven't opened it up yet, but I found a bunch of Youtube videos showing what I'm certain is the exact same problem: the bracket that holds the pin/axle has broken off the case. Apparently this is a design weakness and is a common point of failure. Some of the videos show homemade fixes involving fashioning a new bracket and bolting it on to the inside of the case. They all describe it as "easy", but I'm not sure I have the tools, materials, and skill to do it. Here's one of the videos:

I'm guessing I'm not the only one here who has had to deal with this. My question is, What did you do, and what do you think I should do?

I'm thinking of getting and external expression pedal that I can also use with my HX Stomp, but that doesn't really solve the LT problem.

This is a warranty item, even if you're not the original owner. Contact support, they'll fix you up!

I'm surprised and pleased to learn that you're right, they will treat it as a warranty repair! I put in a support ticket and they already responded (late on a Friday!) and the process has begun. Dang, that was quick!

Not a bad suggestion in of itself, but it would still leave me carrying around a dead, dangling foot pedal.

Well, open up the Helix, and remove the pedal and all that is involved.  You can even velcro a smaller expression pedal where the old one used to be.  Problem solved, and you now have a rugged replaceable expression pedal part of your Helix LT.
