Helix HX Effects channel switching, which amps work and which don't?

So having played with the channel switching on my Peavey Delta Blues 210 amp, following all the instructions to absolutely zero effect, i can only conclude that the HX Effects will not make my amp's channel switch.  I've trawled online looking for answers but so far have only found owners of similar amps (PV Classic 30 and PV Classic 50) moaning about the same issue.

However, my delta blues is a bit long in the tooth and i was already considering changing.  So - who's had success in switching their amp channels with an HX Effects?  Via the standard TRS external sockets.  What amp, what model?   (Also, who's come up against the same as me - what amp, what model?).  Also, for those that work, does the amp have an effects loop?  I'm loving the 4CM on the PV at the moment.

Not so interested in hearing about midi so much... been there and done it.

cheers all

Hi,

What you’re asking about, which amps do, and which do not respond to HXFX switching is a bit of an unknown quantity, to the point that even Line 6 stated way back in 2016 they have only tested a limited amount of hardware.

see this:

Also from way back, possibly the “moaning” you mentioned.

If you do intend changing your amp, take your HXFX unit and plug it in to see if it works.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

Thanks for the above and yeah it does make perfect sense - and yes, if possible i'll try before i buy.  I guess my point is more this - i've seen quite a few folks online like myself saying - "my amp won't channel switch with HXFX..." and i totally get that Line 6 don't make any guarantees.  However, what i don't see so much of online is users saying - "my ........ amp works perfectly with channel switching on the HXFX" and right now that would be interesting to me as i might be in the market for a new amp, especially if that amp had a good effects loop.  My dream goal is to have nothing on the floor except the HXFX... most likely running 4CM.  Might be just a dream but hey!  we can try right? :o)

Hi,

I have found that people usually on post online when they have a problem with something.

When stuff works they are simply happy enough just to get on with their life.

Don't hold your breath waiting for thousands of people give a definitive list of what works, as it is something of a futile quest. That's simply because ultimately you only can decide what type of amp you require. Much like the channel switching systems there are far too many variations to choose from.

It maybe time to visit your local dealer and find something suitable for your needs.

Hope this helps makes sense.

I can vouch for three amps that channel switch with the HXFX - They are Orange Rockerverb MKii and MKiii. Marshall Silver Jubilee reissue. Blackstar HT40 MKi and MKii.

I use a Rockerverb MKiii and im getting hum when i click to the clean channel on my HX Effects. I' m using AmpOut > tip. What are your setting for channel switching on your orange?
