RedStrat1963
The Joystick will toggle side to side/ up and down and will move blocks around but I have to use the Action/Bypass to 'drop' the block into the required position. The Joystick will not 'Open The Model List', I can do this via Helix HX Edit and access the Blocks this way. I have raised a Ticket with Customer Service and tried a Factory Reset but problem persists. They think it's a Hardware problem rather than Software and have provided details of a repair company E & M Electronics, Milton Keynes down (UK). Has anyone had this problem and resolved it ? rd2rk
What you've described is how it works. EDIT: if you're following the procedure as I'm about to describe but firmly PRESSing the knob doesn't work as described then yeah, HW problem. To MOVE a block you use the Joystick<> to select the block PRESS Action Use Joystick<> to MOVE the block PRESS Action to drop it in place To open the Models List you use the Joystick<> to select the block PRESS the joystick knob TURN the knob to select the FX Category PRESS the knob to open the MONO/STEREO/LEGACY column TURN the knob to select MONO/STEREO/LEGACY PRESS the knob to open the actual Models List TURN the joystick knob to select the actual model PRESS the knob to confirm the model and return to the signal chain view If you want to CHANGE the effect model just select the block, press the knob, turn it to your desired effect and press again. If you want to replace the effect with one in a different category, select the block, press the knob and Joystick<> to the proper category and repeat the initial effect selection process. This is one of the most complicated operations performed in the UI and in order to DESCRIBE it I had to run back and forth to my Helix. When I'm actually doing it, I don't even think about it. Practice makes perfect!
RedStrat1963
Thanks rd2rk for your time and trouble taken - it's a hardware problem - the 'Joystick' will not Open the model list. I have been directed by Line 6 Customer Service to a Service Center in the UK. This is a circa 500 mile round trip with a fixed upfront fee for looking at it. Likely would get a Carrier to deliver/collect. The turnaround for repair is around a week. I have had the Helix LT from new around 4 years but consider it to be only 'light use' and it lives in a flight case. I think it's disappointing to have a hardware problem on a part that is naturally going to be used repetitively and IMO should last a 'lifetime'. Hi, I had E&M in Milton Keynes fix the joystick on my Helix floor back in 2019, when it was about 4 years old - they were quick and efficient and a reasonable price. IIRC, I had the local DHL Courier ship it down there from up here in Yorkshire - no problem. Note: it is probably a "dry solder" joint - It happens on electronic stuff, just get it repaired. Hope this helps/makes sense
