jdanese3
I am new at this. I understand I can connect my Helix to HxEdit on my computer and change things. But after tweaking some blocks in some snapshots and changing some behaviors such as turning off the Wah on toe button DIRECTLY on unit- my fear is when I connect to the computer again will the editor overwrite the work I did on the Helix ? I do not want to connect and have the editor revert back to what was originally saved. I hope this question makes sense. Thanks
silverhead
The editor will not ‘overwrite’ anything you do on the device itself. The editor program does not have its own copy of any settings. It uses the data stored on the device to serve its display. Changes made using either the editor or the device itself are immediately reflected on the device and remain synchronized with the editor display.
rd2rk
When you connect to the editor it reads what is in the unit. When you make changes in the editor it is changing what is in the unit. Nothing is permanent until you SAVE, at which time the changes are saved in the unit. Nothing is saved on the computer. All changes are saved to the unit. The next time you connect, the editor simply reads what is on the unit.
