what happens to Stereo Output during Analog Bypass?

If I have a mono signal going into the 1/4" L/Mono input of the HX Stomp, and then I have stereo coming out (L and R 1/4" each going to a separate amp), what happens if I bypass all with the true analog bypass? Does the bypass relay basically work as a splitter, i.e., does the analog signal get passed through to both the L and the R outputs? Or do I only get a signal at the L/Mono output?

Thanks for any insight here!

I don't think that's what he was saying. I think he was saying that if you have a mono source and both the left and right outputs are plugged into something from the Helix, you will get a stereo signal provided your patch is stereo as well.. If you only have the left output going to something and nothing plugged into the right ouput, it will be mono. It's supposed to be summed but I think there may be issues. There was a thread about something like this somewhere.

Try this thread. I think it may answer your questions and describe the issues with L/MONO - R ouputs. Like it doesn't sum left and right when only one thing is connected to the left ouput.

Seems pretty straight-forward, and that's how I tested it.

In analog bypass mode, both outputs functioned as expected - LEFT went LEFT and RIGHT went RIGHT.

How in the world do you get two signals from each Output in analog bypass mode???

IIRC, that whole linked discussion was very confused, and I was never able to duplicate the problem that the person who was pushing that theory was describing.
