Acoustic into POD Express

Are you using any amp model in the POD Express? Normally you don’t use a typical electric guitar amp with an acoustic guitar because it’s hard to get a clean acoustic tone. However, you could try using the cleanest amp model (Princeton?). To minimize the tone coloration keep the Gain low and the Channel Volume high. But the tone may still not be as clean as you want for an acoustic guitar.

In that case you could try using an external preamp to boost the signal before it reaches the POD input, and turn the POD amp model OFF. Often an acoustic guitar that has pickups also has an onboard preamp; try increasing the volume level. Otherwise you may need to obtain a studio preamp that minimizes any tone colouring.

Don't know if the pod go has the new Clarion amp, but I use that with my helix for my Acoustic guitar.  The Clarion if very clean and has a ton of gain but keeps it clean.

He’s using the POD Express, not POD Go. It does not have the Clarion model (at least not yet?).

Thanks silverhead, yea I use the Princeton and the Amp off options. It's mainly to use the express as an interface for the acoustic. The problem is the volume level. Ive use multiple acoustics and the volume is considerably lower than an electric. I was wondering if there was a setting in the express to raise the line level or something like that for acoustics.

If there is such a setting it doesn’t seem to be documented. Which means there likely isn’t.
