jcnesbitt
I'm a bass player and I use Simple Pitch in my HX Stomp XL to drop my tuning by a half step for a few of the songs my band plays. I have it configured to turn on and off with a footswitch in my preset. Last night and for the second gig in a row, I started playing a song and suddenly I'm not playing the right notes because Simple Pitch (I assume) has me transposed. This is not me forgetting to turn the footswitch back off after I need it. It's not me accidentally stepping on anything either. The footswitch is even visually showing that the stomp is off but Simple Pitch is clearly activated. Panicking, I turn my unit off and back on and that fixes the problem. My band mates are not going to be happy with me if this happens again over some effects unit I'm using. Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround someone would suggest? I have the latest firmware installed.
rd2rk
Whenever something totally weird starts happening, perform a Factory Reset (don't forget to back-up first!). If it then continues to happen contact support. 1

I'd suspect that if that happened, it would be because you may have accidentally saved its active state with the current snapshot in your preset. That's something that may happen every now and then because snapshots allow for quite complex configurations. Speaking of drop tuning, I actually prefer the Poly Capo for that because… poly! :) But it will eat up a lot of DSP resources so you may be limited elsewhere, depending on what other blocks you use. In fact, I didn't touch the device the whole gig except for one song that I activated simple pitch for. This sudden transposition or hidden activation didn't happen until many songs after that. Even if it were activated via snapshot, I would think I'd see it's stomp lit up but it was not. I have been using hx stomp and simple pitch for years now and have never seen this before either. Now, it's happened two gigs in a row. I did a factory reset and hope that solves the problem.
RickFior
Is it possible the pitch effect is tied into another button and the reason you don't see it all the time depends on the song you are playing next? In other words, is there another effect you use less frequently that might have accidentally been wired to the pitch effect too? If you upload the patch we can at least look at that. I use the simple pitch all the time and have never had this issue. I do send it through a split path and only have it used on sub 200hz or so, so that might be different.
