njr11288
Hey guys! I'm trying to run multiple guitars off my POD Go. Is there a 'method' to plug my POD Go into my 16ch Mixer, then plug individual guitars into separate channels on that mixer to get distortion? I understand the same POD Go tone will be used for both guitars and that's perfectly fine! I'm just looking for a way to not have to buy another amp/amp modeler and still run (2) guitars at one time for a jam sesh. Please help. Thanks in advance! silverhead
Depends on your mixer I think. If your mixer has an FX Loop that allows you to send and receive the signal from assigned channels to an external FX processor then the answer is yes. Assign the two guitar channels in your mixer to its FX Send function. Connect the mixer’s Send output to one of the POD Go inputs, Guitar or Aux, (check that the signal levels match) and connect the Pod Go output to the mixer’s Receive input. njr11288
Silverhead, what is the difference between "FX Send Function" and "mixer's Send output"....? Right now, I have the guitar running direct into the Mixer Channel Input, a line running from the Aux Send to the POD Go guitar Input and a line running from the POD Go Send into the Mixer Aux Return. I am only getting the straight 'clean' sound, although the POD Go tone is set to distortion. HOWEVER, the tuner on the POD Go is working so it's picking up **a** signal, but not **the** signal. Typically each mixer channel CAN be assigned to the Send function but by default it is not. You have to do something that is specific to your mixer to make that assignment. From the rest of your description it seems that is exactly what’s missing. Your guitar signal is not being sent to the mixer’s Send output and hence the POD Go is receiving nothing. Your signal is passing through the mixer but not passing through the POD Go. Consult your mixer’s manual. If your mixer does not have that per-channel capability then nothing I have said applies, except for the first thing I said: it depends on your mixer. njr11288
Got it! For some bs reason, Aux Send 2 is tied to Aux Return 1. I turned off the Channel Main Mix and Sub Group selectors to get rid of the "straight to board" clean sound and boom. Thanks a bunch for the help! You might get it to work, but the last thing in the world you want for a live mix is two identical guitar tones...hell, forget about identical. You don't even want tones that are a too similar. When two instruments try to occupy the same sonic space, they both get lost. It'll end up sounding like one huge muddy guitar. Back away from the idea slowly, and don't make any sudden movements...;)
