bensjamin
I’m trying to do the 4 Cable method with hxstomp to my Mesa boogie dual rectifier. There’s a squeal or hum sounds when turning up the volume on my stomp. I’m sure I have the 4 cables connected right after seeing tutorials. I have some mix knobs near fxloop on my boogie set to both 50%. I didn’t touch any global settings on the stomp but I added the fxloop L Send and put od before and delays after. update: as im trying to figure it out, when i try not adding the FXloop L Send from hxstomp settings, theres no squeal or hum. The overdrive works fine, but the delays still sound like its going to front of amp. I want the delays and modulations to sound after the amp. (Fxloop) Maybe someone can help me out? Thanks so much. rd2rk
We didn't see those tutorials, so we can't be sure you're connected correctly. Please describe your wiring. That said, it sounds like you don't have an FX Block in your signal chain.

Schmalle
Reads like a ground loop issue. Does it stop humming/squealing when you use the 4CM and then remove the cable form HX Send to Amp Input? If so using a hum destroyer like the Behringer HD400 to isolate the amp's fx loop should solve the issue. Asking Mesa or search their forums might help. Set the loop to serial (mix 0%) for normal 4CM. If you want to use the amp's loop in parallel only use time based fx (delay, reverb) after the FX Loop block with mix set to 100%. Otherwise you'll get phase issues due to the latency of the HX - your direct signal will sound weird.
rd2rk
You can't take the time to describe your wiring, but you want us to take the time to watch a video the instructions in which you may or may not have followed correctly...
