DL4 MK 2 Longer delay time for delay-based looping

Recommended Posts

I wish we could have a super long delay time for delay-based looping. Before you start with 'it already has a looper', stick with me here...

A delay-based looper is different than a sample-based looper (which both DL4s have). The delay-based looper can keep a delay going while very slowly fading no matter what mode it is in (overdub or play). You can use an expression pedal to keep the feedback level at 100% or slowly fade while playing new stuff on top..OR slowly fade while NOT overdubbing anything on top.

I come from using loopers like the Echoplex Digital Pro and Jamman, and I miss this on sample-based loopers which can only slowly fade on overdub. To fade (or not) is controlled by an expression pedal. The Boss Giga Delay could do this with a delay time of 20 seconds (!!) almost 20 years ago. It would seem like an update would allow longer delay times on the DL4mk II (not in loop mode).
