Amps Greyed-out in Helix Native after 3.80 update

After doing 3.80 updates for both HX Edit and Helix Native (including 3.81 update for HX Edit on Mac Silicon), all is well with HX Edit. All instructions were followed, and LT firmware was also updated without issue.

But in Helix Native, 3 Amps are greyed-out: Panama Red (Blue is not, and works), PV VitriolCrunch and PV VitriolLead. All others new amps are present and functional.

Please advise.

Typically any greyed-out items mean there is insufficient DSP to add the selection. Helix Native has a Hardware Compatibility Mode parameter. Check to make sure it is set to OFF, meaning your DSP capacity is limited only by your computer’s power, not by the specified Helix device. Of course doing this would render your preset incompatible with the Helix device.

Thanks! You are correct--I had chosen a preset which was hitting DSP pretty hard. When I changed to a 'lighter' preset, the amps appeared. As I'm not a 'performing' musician, but working in a home studio changing the Hardwared Compatibility Mode in Helix Native also eliminated the issue. I much appreciate your timely and accurate response. Thanks, again.

I updated to 3.8 with Windows 11. The Hardware Compatibility Mode option is completely missing in Global. The instructions say that there is a Global settings issue with Silicon, but this was with WIn 11. Also, same old Boot Failure crap when trying to update with Central. I had to use the old Line 6 Updater to even get past boot failure.

On top of that:)... Just clicking Brit 2024 greys out 18 amp models... 18! And the new EV Panama Red never comes out of grey, no matter what preset I choose.

So, I can't turn off preset compatibility which means I am stuck without being able to switch to the best amps with my Helix.

Anybody understand what is up with this? How can the processing be this feeble?

I really cannot comprehend what you have been trying to do, especially with all this mentioning of:

“The instructions say that there is a Global settings issue with Silicon” and “Boot Failure crap when trying to update with Central. I had to use the old Line 6 Updater to even get past boot failure”

Really?

To install Helix Native you definitely do not need to use Central, or Line 6 Updater.
Here are the genuine instructions for installation from the Helix Native 3.80 download page.

How do I update to 3.80?

Updating Helix Native

  1. Before updating Helix Native, it is highly recommended that you export a preset/setlist bundle. Click the gear icon in the lower left, select the Presets/IRs tab, and then click Export Bundle. Some hardware compatibility modes (HX Stomp, HX Stomp XL, HX Effects) do not have this feature as they have only one setlist. In these cases, at the top of the preset list, click the yellow EXPORT to export the setlist.
  2. Quit your DAW and download and install Helix Native 3.80:
  3. Open your DAW and open an instance of Helix Native.
  4. OPTIONAL: The only way to hear 3.80's new factory presets is to restore them. IMPORTANT! MAKE SURE YOU'VE EXPORTED A BUNDLE (OR ANY IMPORTANT SETLISTS) FIRST, AS RESTORING FACTORY SETLISTS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Click the gear icon in the lower left, select the Presets/IRs tab, and then click Restore Factory Setlists. Click Yes.

Please take note of the things in red text.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
