nick8623
I have tried everything but I still have no idea how to make the dual output layout like the one on the picture. I just want to send precab signal to the Return input of the real amplifiers, and at the same time send post-cab signal to the mixer. I know I can split the signal to A/B and then mix it back to stereo with rounting A to the left, and B to the right. But I see people are just having two outputs like on the picture, and I have now idea how do they make it.
rd2rk
I'm not quite sure what exactly you are after, but I'll assume that you want to send a MONO signal to your amp's RETURN and a STEREO signal to FOH. The attached example preset sends all of your FX to both the amp return and FOH. The amp return is fed by the SEND L (1/4" TS cable from SEND to AMP RETURN) on PATH B. The STEREO signal is collapsed to MONO and NOT passed back to PATH A. The complete STEREO signal is sent to FOH via the MAIN L/R Outputs. I've used a Ping-Pong delay so that you can hear the effect of panning the DUAL SPEAKERS hard L/R. Obviously, having been collapsed to MONO, you won't hear the Ping-Pong effect through your amp. nick8623.hlx
nick8623
Thank you for you response @rd2rk So this is how your preset looks like, and I totally get this idea, it really does work: the other options is to send A (precab) as mono to MAIN L, and B (aftercab+reverb) as mono to MAIN R but check how the preset looks like in the John Nathan Cordy's video, do you see the two terminating outputs in both lanes on the right?: I am trying to understand how he did that, I have checked all the settings and options, but can not find anything I dunno, maybe it is just some old firmware, I am relatively new to Helix
Schmalle
1. From Edit view, turn the Upper Knob to select the point where the two paths merge. The Mixer block (circle symbol) appears only when selected. 2. Press ACTION and turn Knob 1 (Path) to select “B.” The Mixer moves to path B, and a new Output block is created. 3. Press ACTION again to drop the Mixer block. See manual page 18 if you need pictures.
rd2rk
In HX Edit, just grab the MIXER Block and pull it down. However, since you need to add a block of some sort to create the split in the first place, that's really rather pointless/redundant in this scenario. nick8623
Thank you! It is really helpful. So the problem was is that on my own preset the mixer wasn't moving to the lane B with the "action" control nor with HX Edit. And the reason for that was that I already occupied both send loops. If the send-return loop is not used in the preset then the mixer is moving. Which is totally logical when you know it :) > However, since you need to add a block of some sort to create the split in the first place, that's really rather pointless/redundant in this scenario. agree, but from the other hand I could add some additional EQ block for the precab signal on the place of the explicit Send block (for example in the preset you gave me). So it gives +1 extra block if required.
