Saving snapshot changes for XH Stomp in HX Edit

Context: I have an HX Stomp XL (firmware 3.80.0) connected to a Mac via USB, and HX Edit v3.82 opened and connected with the device. I got the device a few weeks back and haven't figured out how to use snapshots yet.

Goal: I want to have two different snapshots of the same preset, where snapshot 1 has different amp EQ settings than snapshot 2.

Problem: My assumption was that I can select a snapshot from the menu, then change the EQ settings, then use the "Save preset" function to save the snapshot changes, then switch snapshots, and edit and save a second one. However, after I do that, switching between the snapshots DOES NOT change the EQ settings. They stay in whatever setting I had set last.

What am I missing? Is there a dedicated save function for snapshots that I haven't found yet? Is there any device setting that influences the HX Edit behaviour here? My "Snapsht Edits" setting is set to "Recall". Thanks for your help.

You must first assign the parameters you want to change using Snapshots to the Snapshot controller. You can do this by simultaneously pressing and twisting the associated parameter knob. When correctly assigned the parameter value will be coloured white. When editing snapshots I find it easiest to set the Global Settings -> Snapshot Edits to Recall.rather than Discard (best for playing, not editing).

I don’t own the Stomp so the details might be different. See manual for complete and accurate info.

Hi,

I noted that this is your first post after recently acquiring your HX Stomp XL, so I am going to save a lot of typing by pointing you to this video, which is the complete beginners guide to Snapshots on the XL.

You also might like to spend some time going through the HX Stomp XL 3.80 Owner's Manual, which is full of really helpful information (even for folk who don't like manuals).

Hope this helps/makes sense.
