MIDI - Changing Helix PRESET CCs to SNAPSHOT CCs instead

Hi all,

I just recently picked up a Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro and I was curious if there's a way to change the set 4 Preset buttons on the GCP (which goes right to the Bank# A, B, C, D presets like it should) to be controlling Snapshots #1-4 instead of the Presets. Currently I've got the 8 Instant Access buttons to control the 6 button Looper functions, Tap tempo, and a Tuner toggle as my Tap/Tuning button really doesn't work too well.

Does anyone know if possible to change the CC numbers internally or define them on the Helix so that I could do this? Or does anyone have experience with the GCP and changing the Preset 1-4 values? Would this be possible with SysEx editing maybe?

Since we're here, anyone have any suggestions for cleaning the Helix footswitches without completely disassembling the Helix? Would be great to have 2 more instant access buttons on the GCP I could assign if I could get my Tap/Tuner button working reliably again :(

Yes, it is in the Helix v3.80 Owner’s Manual on Pages 77-78 in the MIDI section.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately finding the CC#s on the Helix is not the issue I am having :( I've been programming with the Unofficial Helix MIDI guide so everything has been going great until I get to these 4 Preset buttons on the VL GCP.

I'll hit up the Voodoo Labs forums and see if there's a way to reprogram the #1-4 Preset buttons, but everything I have looked at and read online leans towards no :/ I'm also using the GCP a bit unconventionally, the #1-4 Preset buttons are "supposed to" be used with having different presets of the 8 Instant Access buttons right above the #1-4 Preset, like the Snapshot functionality on the Helix. However, I'm trying to have dedicated looper controls on the GCP and use those #1-4 Preset buttons at the bottom to control Snapshots #1-4 on the Helix instead of cycling through the ABCD set of preset 4s in each Setlist on the Helix.

I don't really utilize the presets yet because I typically have been using the Helix as a multieffects > my amp, but I've been leaning a lot more towards using the amps + cabs on the Helix these days so I may just end up trying to take advantage of having the 10 Helix buttons + 4 Preset + the 6 Looper + Tap/Tuner controls right at my feet at all times.
