daveaphotopod
...no new effects? I know that the Helix got the prize drive, but no love for the POD GO? (if I am being honest, for that particular pedal, it's no the "end of the world" and will justify me making the purchase for the physical pedal) - but I bring this up because if memory serves me, we won't get another update in a while, no? To be fair, I didn't go through old posts to see if any of that is true, but as I recall - in the past - the big updates added both new pedals and amps, and there weren't any "supplemental" updates in between. Am I wrong? Has there been any discussion about any new effects?
silverhead
The absence of the Prize drive was discussed during beta testing. It’s too DSP intensive.

It's more than that though, 3.7 also released between Go updates, and it had a couple of effects, plus 1 bass effect which I omitted. Not the end of the world I guess, plenty of effects in the box already, but for accuracy's sake... - Prize Drive (Mono, Stereo), based on* the Nobels ODR-1 - Feedbacker (Mono), Line 6 Original feedback generator - Dynamic Bloom (Mono, Stereo), Line 6 Original bloom reverb. - Nonlinear (Mono, Stereo), Line 6 Original nonlinear reverb with a variety of decay tail shapes (including multiple reverse reverb shapes). Looking forward to trying out the new L6 amps though! Nice we get new stuff, could even call it exclusive since those custom amps are not available anywhere else. Pretty cool that L6 is innovating the amp field without being constrained by limits of the real world (if that's what it's doing!), but even just designing new amps that don't exist in the real world is something! :D
wroline6
Dear Line6 we do not need more amps or cabs. There is already plenty of them in 2.0 (more than one would ever use). I suggest looking into combining effects to overcome the limitation in effect blocks. For example, a compressor and overdrive in the same pedal. 1 block instead of 2. Or even a double overdrive. I am not installing this update. I'd rather use that time to play more guitar. Thanks

Ah, interesting. I don't pretend to be a know-it-all, but what a random effect to be dsp intensive.....and a drive, at that! I mean I can think of about 4 drive pedals that have way more options/settings than the Prize Drive, so while I accept that the beta testing proved it to be too intensive, it just seems.....random, to me. Likely has to do with the complexity of the internal circuits, as that is what is being emulated https://circuitlangtantqf.z21.web.core.windows.net/nobels-odr-1-schematic.html http://guitarpedalbuilders.blogspot.com/2012/05/boss-od-1-overdrive.html
