Can't get multiple inputs in Reaper with Helix LT

Hi All,

I've recently got myself a Helix LT and I've got it connected to my PC and HX Edit installed, however. I can't get Reaper to see any of the additional USB inputs from the Helix. The device in Reaper comes up as Digital Audio Interface rather than Helix LT and I can only select one mono input in Reaper so can't use any stereo effects and everything is in mono when trying to play along to music.

How do I get the additional USB options to show up ? If I select USB 3/4 or 5/6 in Helix LT I have no sound from my guitar and no option to select other than the 1 and only mono input in Reaper.

Check your Reaper audio device configuration. If the Helix LT is visible for selection choose it. If not visible you may not have the Line 6 ASIO driver installed. The driver was included in the HX Edit installation package. Run it again and select to Install the driver.

Hi,

I’m a regular Logic Pro user on a Mac, but I have several other DAWs available on my computer which I can use to troubleshoot various issues. I haven’t fired up Reaper in quite a while, and as my studio is locked up until tomorrow, I liberated this information from another forum.

O.K.  In Reaper, click the top right corner where it says Audio Device, Sample Rate and a Latency readout. There's a drop down setting called "Select Audio Driver". Use "ASIO Line 6 Helix". Sample rate should default to 48,000hz, if it doesn't then select that. In the inputs section, select 1 as "first input", and 8 as last input. All the other settings are not really relevant.

If you want, you can click on the "Device Settings" button to bring up the Line 6 Helix driver, where you have a latency/buffer size slider. Unless your PC is a literal potato I don't think there's any reason to use anything other than the fastest setting, it's still not exceptionally fast.

Close the audio device setting, add a new track. Click the little red button thing on the track controls to arm the track. Select your inputs, if you want stereo select stereo 1/2. Add another new track, select input 5 or 6 in mono to record a simultaneous DI. If you're plugged into the Helix with your headphones/studio monitors and are not using any plugins to monitor while recording, disable record monitoring by clicking on the speaker shaped button on both tracks until it says record monitoring off.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
