pott24
Hi folks; to simplify my system, I am now using my POD Express Black as my PC interface. Windows 10 computer, straight to USB-C (motherboard). AudioEngine A2+ speakers My previous setup was a Matrix Quattro II DAC/amp, and it was MUCH louder. I'd turn the speakers maybe to a quarter, or a third, and my interface wasn't maxed-out at all. And yet here, I have both the POD and speakers maxed-out and it's still not very loud at all. I've got the relevant drivers installed, I've got the Windows volume to max, and the relevant app's output (e.g. browser, Spotify, etc...) also to the max. What could be going on here? Thanks! silverhead
Double check that the POD Express ASIO driver is installed and that your PC/DAW is properly configured to use it.
pott24
I am not using a DAW, I am just using the POD as my sound device. And indeed the latest ASIO drivers for the POD Express were previously installed.
silverhead
That’s very odd. Is your computer configured to use the POD Go as its audio device?
pott24
POD Express and yes. Basically I plug it with USB straight to the mobo, it's correctly set as my output device, and its volume wheel is maxed-out. To get the volume to be at a decent level I also need to max out the windows volume and the monitors' volume.
silverhead
I suggest you open a support ticket.
pott24
Well. I tried again today, but with a 9v power adapter rather than batteries... which I realized I should have specified were my source. And lo; it all works great and it's loud as can be. Well then. Nothing to report but the usual user-error :) EDIT: I doubt it was the battery vs. power that was causing the issue. I tested my audio cable to my monitor and it was defective. Small nudges greatly changed the overall volume. Setting it in a correct position to yield proper sound fixed it.
