micschi
i've had my variax 600 for over 15 years, and i'm so happy with it, i bought a used one as a backup for gigs. it sounds generally the same, or very close, as you would expect. but the "new" guitar seems to have lower output. even at full volume, it's clean, clean, clean. it doesn't push the amp the same way as my original 600. is that something i could do something about, maybe in workbench? thanks. psarkissian
Yes, Workbench can help. -Fresh string set, a 10-42 (or 46) gauge string set, for good string to piezo tension. -With a cotton swab, drip isopropyl alcohol onto the piezos, let it seep down onto the saddle. Then blow it out with canned air. Repeat as needed. This is to clear any gunk out from between the piezos and saddles, as the saddle acts as a chassis ground for the piezo circuit. Gunk in the saddles can make that an intermittent ground.
