HX Effects + Bluguitar Amp1 issues

I'm trying to control AMP1 via HX's Midi Out. The Midi channel on both units is set to 1 and I disabled USB MIDI, MIDI PC RX, MIDI PC TX and Snapshot CC Send. When I choose the channel, boost etc at AMP1 and press, say patch 1 button at the HX nothing happens except that the Amp1 freezes. That means I have to boot it.
I tried the same programming move with Tech 21 Midi Moose controlling the Amp1 and it worked like a dream.

Blueguitar informs us that if there's too much Midi-information going on you are surely to experience a failure. What's wrong here?

Do you have this?

MIDI1 If you want to build an individual programmable guitar system using the MIDI controller of your choice, you can control AMP1 ™ using the BluGuitar® MIDI1 ™ adapter interface. This turns AMP1 ™ ’s remote port into a MIDI In port. This allows you to recall all of AMP1 ™ ’s switching functions (Clean - Overdrive, Boost Reverb and the overdrive channel selector switch) via MIDI program change commands. Additionally, control change commands CC 007 (2nd MasterVolume), CC 020 (Gain) and CC 030 (PowerSoak) are also received. You put MIDI1 ™ ’s adapter interface’s port into AMP1 ™ ’s REMOTE port: on the opposite end is a 5-pin DIN socket for the MIDI IN. The interface elec tronics are powered by AMP1 ™ , meaning that no extra power supply or cables are required.

So, what did the MIDI Monitor show as actually being sent?

Is it being sent on the same MIDI Channel that the Amp1 is listening on?

Are there any configuration steps on the Amp1 that need to be done besides setting the MIDI Channel?

And did you do this:

Select the combination of Channel, Boost and Reverb you want to store. Press the BOOST switch until the REVERB switch starts blinking. Release the Boost switch. You are now in "MIDI-Learn" mode. Send your MIDI Program Change command to AMP1 ™ within 10 seconds. Your patch is stored when the REVERB switch stops blinking

Sorry, I've just read your initial post more carefully.

The BG MIDI1 defaults to MIDI Channel 1.

When you disabled MIDI PC Tx, that disabled the default MIDI PC#s associated with the HXFX Presets.

So, in the HXFX Command Center you need to set the Footswitches to the PC#s you want to send and to send them on MIDI Channel 1.

Sorry, I' a bit late. I just tried the Disaster Area midi monitor but it's not giving me much. I tried it with 01A preset on my  HX. It gave mew some on/off messages once or twice but I haven't gotten anything after several tries.

I tried AMP1  withm my Tech Midi Moose pedal. It works like a charm and the programming was a snap. I tried chaining them Moose -->> HX -->> Amp1. The Midi Moose switches patches on Amp1 so the Midi through on HX. Unfortunately the patches on HX do not change with this setup......

IDK what that is, but it's NOT the COMMAND CENTER settings.

If you don't know what COMMAND CENTER is, that would explain why you're having a problem.

Start at page 43 of the HXFX User Manual.

The third picture Is from the command center page after you press the Menu key right after powering on the device. Is it supposed to look different?
I've experimented with all the Midi CC, CC Togl, Bank/PC and MMC -controls and options with poor results. I suppose Bank/PC is the solution to my problem but I'll try again tomorrow with the manual;)
Cheers!

I can't explain the HW interface to you, as I don't have the HXFX.

I do know that using CommandCenter in HX Edit is the same for all Helix family devices.

Show me your configuration in HX Edit. Here's what it looks like for my HX Stomp.
