jrmcurle
Hello, I am a Helix Stadium XL user, and I have a question regarding the expression pedal when using a Wah effect. I usually keep the expression pedal assigned to the Wah and set it to activate automatically when I move the pedal. The problem is that I need to use the full sweep of the Wah, from 0% to 100%, during my performance. Currently, the Wah is configured to bypass when the pedal reaches the heel-down position. Because of this, whenever I use the full range of the pedal and reach the heel-down position, the Wah turns off unintentionally. What I would like is to be able to use the entire pedal range, including the heel-down position, without the Wah bypassing automatically. I only want it to turn off when I intentionally disengage it. Is there a recommended way to configure the Wah so that it remains active while using the full sweep of the expression pedal, but still allows me to bypass it when desired? Thank you for your help. silverhead
Assign the Wah Bypass to a footswitch, not the heel down position.
dandesy
How does the wah know when you “intend” for it to shut off? Unfortunately, ESP wasn’t built in the helix. you should use a switch as silverhead said, it set a longer time for it to deactivate.
theElevators
Assign the wah to be on in a specific snapshot only, as was previously recommended. I use the wah in sevearal ways: 1. automatic percentage-based engagement: when below 5%, turn off after 500 ms. 2. just always on in a specific snapshot, called "wah solo", that way I can rock the pedal in any position, even all the way in the heel position. 3. and I never using the toe switch. I disable that in all my presets. In some snapshots, I lower the bypass percentage of the expression pedal, so that the effect disengages when at 0%, as opposed to 5%. You can set that in your bypass assignment. Also there's a wait time of either immediately turn off or up to 1 second. I time these engagements/disengagements to a song, depending on how fast/slow that song is.
