stadium Volume pedal and gain values changing automatically

I am experiencing a critical issue with my Helix where the volume pedal and parameter values change automatically on their own.

Specifically, even when I set the volume pedal range from 0 to 100, it automatically shifts to an arbitrary range like 7 to 82. As a result, sound leaks through even when fully muted, and I cannot reach the maximum volume.

Furthermore, without even touching the physical volume knob, the screen UI displays the volume value decreasing on its own, as if someone is turning the knob. Occasionally, the gain values will also spike up out of nowhere, which makes it incredibly frustrating and unpredictable during live playing.

I have already tried a factory reset and made sure the unit is running on the latest firmware, but the issue persists.

Is this a known hardware defect (like a faulty potentiometer/optical sensor), or is there a way to fix this via a software update? I would appreciate any advice.

Definitely open a support ticket. That sounds like a hardware issue.

Check your global settings.  If you have the expression pedal 1 and/or 2 persist by snapshot, then if you change snapshots it will reset to what the expression pedal value was when you saved that snapshot.  That's a feature on the OG Helix.  

 

I used to hate that feature, but now I actively use it.  I used to have the expression pedal persist by preset.  Meaning that if I switch to a different snapshot, the expression value doesn't reset and remains where I left the physical pedal.  

 

So worth double-checking that.
