bbarker1
Hi there...purchased a pair of L3m speakers. When I power one of them on..there is the usual momentary delay and then you hear the speaker make a subtle noise as it kicks on. That is normal. But on the other one....it has the usual momentary delay and then it snaps bfriefly and kind of loud I think as it kicks on. Anyone ever experience this??? After it is on there is no issue...only at start up does it do this snap noise....
silverhead
Does this happen only with the one speaker without any other connections? To test, disconnect both speakers from all other devices, including each other if using L6 LINK, and try powering each on in isolation. This will determine whether the snap is within the speaker itself or related to the connections.
bbarker1
Yes I did this in isloation after I first heard it......just the speaker itself plugged in....no other connections to anything....and only this speaker does it....the other one does not.... silverhead
Do you happen to have the Line 6 M20d mixer? If so you could try reinstalling the speaker firmware. Otherwise I guess you have to decide whether this is sufficiently troublesome for you to look into a warranty repair.

bbarker1
poor typing on my part....what I was saying is..I can ignore the noise...as long as it wont damage speaker in the end. Only happens at that time.....never after start up
JeffersteinVS
Hey this is normal. it sounds like a click almost. I believe its a prevention technique sort of like how a air conditioner works. in the even you have a power issue and power keeps turning off and on you dont fry the power supply.
