Stadium Mic Pre amp - is it fragile like OG Helix floor when 48v is active?

Hello,  I am looking at the Stadium to see how it compares to my Helix Floor.

Sadly my XLR input is dead on my Helix Floor.

I remember reading in this forum that people had their XLR input blow up when they'd accidentally pulled out the XLR while Helix was still powered up and 48v was active... so I was careful not to do that..

Then one day..  oops.

At first it just blew up the 48v power - I could still use a dynamic mic with Helix..

But after a year or more the Mic input totally stopped working :(

- so my question :  

Does the Stadium have more robust XLR input circuitry?   Or will a little accident mean BOOM!

( as a side note I was hoping the Ext Amp socket would be improved to allow full ground isolation so it could be used to switch all kinds of older amps... but sadly it seems not to be the case with these multi purpose sockets right? )

I recall that being an issue with the XLR Outputs on OG Helix. In fact there is this statement in the manual:

IMPORTANT! Never connect Helix’s XLR outputs to a device whose XLR inputs have

48V phantom power enabled!

 

That statement does not exist in the Stadium manual so take what you want from that.

 

I don’t recall it being an issue with the Mic preamp in OG Helix but apparently you experienced it. I have not heard of any such issues with Helix Stadium. 
 

Not conclusive, I know, because the fact that something hasn’t seemed to happen yet doesn’t mean it won’t happen tomorrow. I guess the only conclusive answer would be “Yes it’s a problem” when/if someone reports it. Meantime survey says No problem.

But Helix Stadium global settings say : IMPORTANT! As a general rule, never plug or unplug a mic or XLR cable while phantom power is on.

It isn't like I have had a ton of mic pre's, but I think that is a pretty standard warning across *a lot* of equipment (including microphones).

Thanks for replies folks.. no BOOMs yet.  Anyone brave enough to try hot plugging and uppluging a phantom powered mic for us?

Would be good if official Line6 people could test.  Every piece of equipment has this warning - but like many of you I've been at many gigs where people have pulled out mics or DI boxes from the console before phantom was turned off.. and no harm has ever happened in 30 odd years of music making...  Except to my OG Hlelix.  sniff!
