Kplumley
Can one connect the XLR output from a HD500 to soundboard, and connect 1/4 output to power amp (or powered floor monitor)? What Output MODE would work best?
Charlie_Watt
Yes - and it depends. You can hook the XLR output to a soundboard. You can connect the 1/4 output to power amp. What output mode works best is up to you. I would suggest Studio Direct as the most likely choice.
scottyo78
Yes you can! ;) This is my normal connection scheme. I run the XLR's to my Firewire Audio Interface and the 1/4" stereo outs to a stereo amp feeding 2 guitar amp cabs. I can simutaneously play via the amps and record into my AI, into my DAW. Kplumley
Thanks for the reply Charlie_Watt and scottyo78. I was going XLR to sound board and 1/4 out to PE60, and using Studio Direct mode. Switching to Combo Power Amp sounds better with the PE60; I am apprehensive on how it will sound going through our church's digital sound board. jandrio
check out this one. bear in mind that if u using only one XLR works out 4 mono patches, not 4 stereo ones...
Charlie_Watt
Yes the XLR outputs are Mono. If you want stereo, you can use both of them and mix at the mixing board. (Or pan everything to L or R on the pod) I find XLR to be the way to go because it's balanced and you are less likely to get ground loop noise with it.
