bradmize
I was wondering if someone could explain the procedure for doing a complete factory reset on the POD X3 Live! I've searched the forum and the manual and all I can find is references to restoring the factory patches. My tuner is no longer working. When you hold in the button for 2 seconds nothing happens. It no longer goes into tuner mode. If anyone has any other suggestions that I might try they would certainly be appreciated. Thanks in advance. silverhead
The factory reset button is in the System or perhaps the Commands section on the X3. You will see it as one of the available options on one specific page. Just browse around until you find it.
bradmize
I found the Commands section and did the "Reset User Presets" function but looked there and the System settings and did not find a Factory Reset option anywhere. Still having the same problem with the tuner not coming up. When you hold in the tuner switch nothing happens at all. Any ideas? Thanks for the help silverhead. I was able to use your suggestions to find the areas but still can't figure this out.
silverhead
Try using Test Mode to see if there is a hardware problem with the switch. To enter Test Mode, power on the X3 while holding down the left (or is it right? Or down?) nav key. When you see the test screen, navigate down to the item that says Buttons (or Switches?) and hit Enter to select that item. You will then see a display of zeros. When you press a button/switch, one of the zeros will turn to a one, indicating that the pressing action has been detected. This confirms that the selected button/switch is,working correctly from a hardware perspective. If you press on a switch and there is no change in the display, that indicates a hardware failure with that switch. The pressing action was not detected. Sorry for the vagueness of entering test mode. It's been a while since I've had an X3. If the test shows that the tuner switch is working then I suggest you reinstall the device firmware. Use Monkey to do this. If the test shows a hardware failure with the switch, your device needs servicing.
bradmize
You were correct about the test mode (it was the right navigation key). When I tested all the other buttons they went from [1 0] when pushed down to [1 1] when you let up. The tuner button did nothing. It sounds like a problem with the hardware switch but I will try the firmware update as a last ditch effort. When I loaded up Monkey it says that my X3 already has the latest firmware. If I want it to reinstall it anyway, how do I do that if you don't mind me asking?
