JTV 69 With 12 gauge strings?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've been using 11' strings on myvaruax, mainly or the acustics...but I'm thnking of trying 12's. I think the acoustics will benefit from that...anybody tried it before? My only concern is how the electrics sound will change...anyone has any feedback?

Thks

When changing string gauges, make sure your local guitar tech (preferably a Line 6 authorized

service center) to check and adjust the set-up (relief, action, intonation and such) afterwards.

When changing gauges, the string tension also changes, and that will have an affect on the set-up.

It's like that with any guitar.

What is the JTV-69 set up for and using when it ships?  10s?

i have 10-11 hybrids on my 69, just a minor tweak to set up required..... but i have my trem blocked off anyway, so that bit was not an issue.... you may need a little turn to tighten the trem claw screws, my nut is fine with the 11 lower half, no slotting needed.

Thks for all the help...will try them soon...just today my low E piezo failed....it started to crackle a bit a couple of days ago and today it is completely dead :( ...probably have to send it ofr repair as it is still under warranty...I'm basically using the magnetic for electrics and only the simulation for acoustics and resos...
