FractalFlakes
What are some things to look for when looking to buy quality guitar cables? There are tons of guides on the internet but I am looking for more of personal/player buying experience?
phil_m
Don't buy the cheapest cables you can find, but don't buy the most expensive, either. Really, the most important thing, imo, is the quality of the connectors. That's what fails. Just make sure you get cables made with connectors where you can unscrew the housing to actually get to the solder joints if you need to. I hate the cables that have sealed ends. If they fail, there's nothing you can do with them. With good connecters you can at least repair them if you have to, but if it's a quality cable, you shouldn't have problems. I've had a lot of luck with Horizon cables, personally. They're relatively inexpensive, and they have a lifetime warranty.
radatats
In my experience there is none better or more reasonably priced than these guys. All cables made to order in their ISO certified factory right here in the USA. Absolute pro quality gear for the touring musician or the bedroom plonker. http://btpa.com/home.php - Best Tronics Pro Audio http://btpa.com/Guitar-Line-Level-c-33/ - Guitar Cables http://btpa.com/Line-6-Variax/ - Variax Cables http://btpa.com/MIC-XLR/ - Mic/XLR Cables http://btpa.com/Speaker/ - Speaker Cables
gunpointmetal
Having paid WAY too much on Monster cables and constantly going through their return policy (now Guitar Center can't even exchange Monster cables, so you have to pay a few bucks to mail back your broken cables every year), the cables I have used the longest in a live setting without issue have been Guitar Center's Livewire brand. Lifetime warranty, and they can be exchanged easily enough if you do have problem, unless you're nowhere near a GC.

If your not near a GC the live wire cables have screw off ends, so they should be easy enough to resolder. I haven't need to with any of them yet.
