javiherrera
I am still learning stuff on my Pod HD500 and one question that I have is regarding the use of the HD500 as a midi controller. Basically, would it be possible to use the pedal to control loops from a PC while still using the effects from the pedal? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! :)
cclement
In theory... yes. Any of the HD500 foot-switches can be set up to send out MIDI messages. The trick would be: Having a foot-switch available that isn't already turning on/off something on the HD500 to assign a MIDI message to. Setting up the software on your PC to respond to the messages from the HD500 via MIDI.
Rewolf48
I would also add that you need a MIDI interface on the PC because the HD series doesn't have a MIDI over USB capability. The MIDI functionality is described in the Advanced Guide Appendix B. One thing that you really have to watch out for is that Patch Changes on the HD will always send a Program Change message that is fixed to the new HD Patch number and cannot be disabled or changed. http://line6.com/data/6/0a06434dc1a55085c5d6532bf/application/pdf/POD%20HD500%20Advanced%20Guide%20v2.10%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf
