ajgor
Hello. I have a Toneport UX1, and would like to buy bass combo of Ampeg. And would like to ask, if it is possible to connect the Line Out of that bass combo to Toneport UX1, and record the bass in that way? Wchich input I should use in my Toneport? The guitar input, or the microphone input? How to do all of that correctly, to get best effect, and not to spoil anything? Greetings. TheRealZap
you can do it... best way depends on your amp... but ideally i would go from a direct out on your amp if available to the mic port.... but you could get workable results from other options as well. ajgor
In fact, for playing on the scene I have other, professional equipment, but for home playing, I am intend to buy the smallest Ampeg Combo - BA108. For the home work it is enough. It has very good sound, and enough power. And it has Line output. Thank You.
Triryche
If it is Line level out, I would try the Line In on the back.

ajgor
Well.. So finally I have the Ampeg BA-108 amp in home. Its sound is beautifull. I have plugged the line output of amp into Line input in my Toneport UX-1, and set the Gearbox input to Line 1. All works well. I can record my bass to DAW (Reaper, Ableton Live etc). But I have one more question. Every time, I record something, the sound is affected by the simulated amp, I have set in gearbox, and the tone is different, than the original one from Ampeg Amp. So how to set Gearbox, to get original tone directly from Ampeg, via Toneport to my DAW? Without any ingerention of Gearbox's effects or simulated amps? Triryche
For the record, POD Farm 1.12 replaces Gearbox. In the mixer view of POD Farm you can control what is delivered to Sends 1 thru 4. I think in Gearbox it is send 3 and 4 set to Pre (Can't remember off hand, it's been a while since I used Gearbox). Either way, in your DAW make sure you have allo 4 inputs enabled, then when you arm a track to record, make sure you are selecting the appropriate inputs.
