So hot that you can't touch it? Is this a new development?

Just FYI, you probably need to post this to the Guitar POD Products section of the forum.

Your internal power supply (yes, there is an internal one in addition to the wall wart) may be on it's way out. You should have this checked at a service center.

Don't use your Pod XT, other Amp Modeler or Tube Preamps on soft surfaces, because the heat accumulates on them.

I have the same problem when using my Pod X3 or Demonizer in my bed. They really both get that hot, that it's nearly impossible to turn the knobs. Can't complain about heat when using them on my desk.

Interesting what Araeon brings up. I've actually experienced the same thing. This is probably more likely to happen with the beans than the Live Pods because the Live pedals all have a special base. (Don't ask me what it's actually made of, I don'r know.) I can say the same about my old ME50, even that got hot when it was just sitting on my couch more than just sitting on my desk or on the floor.

Commonly if all the functions are in tact and you don't smell anything or see any smoke, then it's not a problem but you could probably do well to check with a new power supply and place it on a hard cold surface if you know you are going to leave it on and rocking hard.
