  1. mine has always done the same thing. I thought the latest app/fw update was to fix that. Haven't loaded it yet. The volume pedal issue is really annoying live. Helix sounded great last night but having that snap to level when I touch the pedal is a pita.
  2. Just use a distortion of choice and change the tone or treble setting by a FS. I made a nice one by boosting a range of 1.5 to 2.0 I also have the level go down a bit because the perceived volume was a bit to much. you should be able to "model" about any treble booster with all the choices in the H.
  3. Interesting, I never ran ran my JTV through the HD500 to workbench. I'm sure Helix will do the same eventually if not already. I don't see why you would run a 1/4" with the VDI though, I don't use the mags anyhow. I do use the Variax preset to select the pup's on every preset and a few tuning's as well.
  4. I use a boss fv5 I think. make sure the volume on the pedal is turned down all the way. I also had to put a screw through the pedal as a stop otherwise it would go to 100% then start going back down. These pedals aren't ideal for use on L6 products.
  5. use the black model for my HD500. Works great light too! I wish they made a 34" for 2 exp pedals with Hlx.
  6. Can the effect assigned to expression pedals be set to a default parameter setting ignoring the pedal position until pedal is moved. Just like the controls on the variax? Also since I typically use the onboard exp. for delay parameters and a wah, when I engage wah with toe switch the delay para's move with the wah. Can the toe switch be set to lock the delay para's at a default while wah is engaged? Thanks!
  7. I have the CNB PDC-410G SSL for my HD500, 5lbs less than the 4100. Room for exp pedal and midi fc. I would like to have 2 additional exp. pedals with the Helix unfortunately it is a little to narrow 29.5" and their next size is 39.5. Around 32" would be perfect. The 4100G loaded would approach the weight of a DT25. It's nice to pop the lid plug in and everything's connected.
  8. I'll be using it in a live performance, there's no time for additional pedal presses like mode change or bank change that's the whole purpose of patches. think about it If I'm in stomp mode and and I'm coming out of a lead and I need a clean rhythm sound I would need to press mode then patch. For my use I can get by with 8 available patches from the helix board if I can switch on/off a few effects with the midi F/C. can't do that with my HD500. If I could also add a few patches to the F/C that could contain my Variax changes but the problem is it would the bank to go where the patch is and that would change all the foot switch settings on the Helix.
  9. I would like the ability to use a midi foot controller to switch effects while using the helix switches for patch changes. It would be great to be able to assign some additional patches also to the F/C and variax models and tunings, Feasible? Thanks, Gary
  10. Hi DI awesome work here! Could you explain the CV connection in some detail. I'm looking to have a control pedal or two (Momentary switch type) to use as footswitches. I currently use a Rolls midi fc with my HD500 so I have 10 patches without banking up/dn and that leaves me 5 f/s for effects on the 500. I would like to eliminate the f/c since it wont fit in my board case with the larger Helix. It looks like there are 10 fully assignable f/s so I could use 8 as preset and two for effect f/s correct? It would be ideal if I could assign a ext control to tune/tap and use all 12 f/s for patch and effect assigns. I don't need mode or bank u/d for live use and could use the knobs to access those functions when necessary, possible? Thanks
