  1. but still want to use live cab to color the actual dt50 speaker .......... any trick ??
  2. Hello, Im using the dreamrig DT50 + HD500 IT SOUNDS amazing in clean and crunch and super crunch ...i'm using combo power amp mode in the HD500. the problem is that my lead sounds are too fizzy with too much highs .... I have a lot ofexperience in post eq in the pod (i use the pod since 2013) and what ever I did it always delivers too mushc highs ....yet when i switch to studio direct my lead sounds are amazing ( im using pre amp models ) is there any way to switch off mic modeling in clean sound in studio direct ...this way I WILL benefit from those amazing lead sounds in studio direct and maintain the same amazing clean and crunch tones That i have in combo power amp mode (combo power amp mode uses cab emulation without mic modellling) if no....do you think I can tweak my clean/ crunch sounds in studio direct to get the exact feel and sound as in "combo power amp mode" ?? Which mic model is the most transparent for this usage ?? Any one with the same experience ?? ANY user finding that studio/direct sounds better than the other modes using l6 link into DT ?? I want that controlled miked equed lead tone that i get in studio/direct mode in my DT but still having that feel and lively sound in my clean and crunch sounds in combo power amo mode.... thank you in advance
  3. resurecting the topic !! I play with the dream rig (variax + hd500 + DT50 COMBO) my lead sounds through the DT sounds best with studio direct...while my clean sound are best in combo power amp.....the problem with my leads using combo is that it delivers too much high ends even with post eqs it still too harsh...........but it sound organic and full in studio direct ...is their an way to switch of mic modeling in clean sound in studio direct?? THIS way i will have both options in studio direct mode (using only cammobel in clean tones and using cab + mic in lead tones) if no ...which mic model is the most ransparent one and which will give me less boomy results in clean sound using studio direct.....if i can make my clean and crunch patched sound in studio direct as good as in combo power amp i will switch to studio direct to benefit from that amazing lead tone in studio direct
  4. do you mean you have different patches for your variax for different systems ?? I understand that amp pedal presets sounds different and im not using the same presets in my dt and in my studio monitors the thing is that : with a regular fuitar switching systems and switching presets works fine .........yet with variax it seems that i dont only need to change presets on pod ...but i also need to change presets on my variax :o
  5. Hello everybody, I want to share with you this experience. I spent yesterday the whole journey at home with my dream rig (JTV + POD 500 + DT 50) The objective was to set and regulate the sound of the modeled guitars. It was hard and difficult to acheive what I wanted But in the end I was verry happy with the result. I used the DT 50 as my main amplification system and a blackface model..... today I plugged my Jtv and hd500 in my studio monitors using studio direct and I selected my studio presets and....the guitar does'nt sound as good as it sounded yesterday on my amp .... the modeled guitars sound moody ... when I go back to DT50 they sound good ! did you ever experience this ? WHAT KIND of amplification system should I use To regulate the modelled guitars? My big fear is to experience the reverse that is : setting the jvt sounds on my monitors and having an awful sound in my DT .... In this situation it means I need different presets for my variax for different amplification system and .... it is not practical .... ps: i Tried to eq the amp models, it helped little bit yet it was not as good as It should Do you think I must use no amp model at all ?? HOW do you proceed ? Did you have the same experience ? what is the best working method for you ? share
  6. hmmm I did the reverse ...lowering strings volume and ading preset volume !! will try the the other way and share with you the results
  7. I tried to turn down the volume of the strings ....and..... it works !! I found than lowering to 40 per cent works well ... I compensate with preset's volume .....I need to mention That i also used some fabric between the piezos and the tremolo ( I have the 69 model) I followed some advice in another thread ! and it is day and night I will never thank you enough for your sharings ...still need work for perfect tone any advice for accentuating the sustain???
  8. mmm !! it makes a lot of sense ! I will try this .....do you think pick up level also influence on such comp / behaviour ?? Or is it only related to overall volumes of the strings ?? does preset volume also influence this ??
  9. which body / pickups will give that fat round an bassy les paul sound according to you ?? The lester being too nasal ....more like a jazz guitar ...masonic seemed good in the begining but at the end it sounds like 69 magnetic ..thus more like a single coil
  10. refreshed frimeware ! same problem.. tried 1.9 sounds better but the moleds are too bassy and no access to Workbench under this frimeware
  11. same problem here i have a 69 !! impossible to get rid of that nasal sound on ALL MODELS the models seems EQUED like a banjo
  12. Hello .. im intrusted in this conversion ! could you please send me the shematics si that i can turn my heavy DT50 into an amazing head like yours
  13. All what you are saying is logical. Yet, the problem with the HD is that sometimes you need to tweak tweak tweak ....yet to get an average result .. i want to know if it also the case with the hd coupled with the DT ?
  14. As simple as you said.. so with the DT there will be further tweaking ??
  15. I can say the same thing..I own an old peavy SS studio chorus . it sound s amazing . My question is suposed to give me answer on choosing between DT and HD , or let's say bying a BLackstar ID60 tvp for its easiness of use But if the DT STILL BLOW the blackstar I prefer to bring a DT and couple it with my hd500 I'm just little bit tired of tweaking the hd I think this is why I'm looking into blackstar ID or katana
  16. What about the blackstar ID TVP 60 ,? forget about the price the hidden question here is the following : do you think that actual modeling amps can nowaday compete with the responsiveness and the tone of of a DT 25
  17. Hello !! How does the line6 DT25 holds up in comparaison to the new modeling amps like Katana or even Blackstar ID TVP series ! I'm impressed about how do they sound and I'm asking my self is the dt25 is still worth ....the katana and the ID are lighter .but I don't know if that tube inside the DT still make a big difference ?? WHat do you think ??
  18. will try from scratch ! even if in my daw I didnt need to change alot of parameters when using Irs plug ins
  19. d'ont think so cause I use the wha wha ! I dont see how is it possible to use them both I....... mean if I switch to the wha the setting of the volume pedal will be either full volume or minimal volume
  20. Hello line6 community I used to drive the pod in usb mode and add IRS in the daw ....THE sound is amazing as you may expect I recently bought a digitech cab dryver https://digitech.com/en/products/cabdryvr It is a a digital pedal loaded with diferent Irs ...the idea is to use it in conjunction with the hd in a real band situartion... u can use it in stereo mode since it has both left and right input/ output and chose a different cab in each path.. I tried it both in the main output of the pod to the amp / daw/ mixing board and in the fx loop of the pod as well Well.......when I bypass the pod cabs and use only the irs in cabdryver the result is AWEFUL !!! what ever the seeting I use in the Digitech pedal... The result is better when I use pod cabs alone YET ....there is a big Yet, when I use both the the iRS in the cabdryver along with the cab within the pod. it seems it has a potential to sound as good as I want who had this experience with Irs either in a daw or with torpedo or even the same pedal as mine ?? DO you think that the pod cabs interact in a specific way with the pod modeled amps to sound as they are suposed to sound ???
  21. Yes I tought that maybe its the guitar or the pickups I'm bored about ........I'm the style of musicien who loves to have only one guitar.....and Good point about the comparaison between pod and real amp yeah maybe I need a crappier sound to get happy once again Another point....how are you able to dial the volumes of tha patches in band practice situation I'm very disapointed...when I switch between clean and overdrive..it is either too low or two high and this always depand on the velocity of the drummer/bass player .....I feel like I need a copy of each preset one in higher volume to another .....any solution ??
  22. hmm, I'm more frustrated now hhhahha Even in band practice....while they used to love my tone, they are now telling me that I sound like crap :/ even when I use the same patches I used when they were happy about my tone.. I love versality this is why I love the pod, but my tone is no more what it used to be even with the same guitar same patches......maybe my ear matured ?? the sound That I like are not so exhaustive : 1.A round and dark clean tone with a kind of bassy harmonious sustain when you play chords ......still got this with the Pod 2. an edge of beakup tone ressemblig the clean tone for some solo feeling and melodies using two strings (sraty playing) 3. a crunch sound with a focus on the mids to get that classic rock tone ! obviousely this same tone can become a lead tone with a distortion pedal 4. A Dark and round lead tone to get that petruccian sound 5. another lead , yet more nasal, less bassy more adequate for slides and harmonics (in the style of andy timmons While these are just 5 different tones, I think that I can play anything I want to play. Yesterday, I played with a a marshal 8100 valvestate, and, while I dislikes the clean tone, the overdrive channels competes the pod in term of edge of break up / crunch sound.
