I am debating between buying a Helix Floor or a Helix LT. The scribble strips would be really nice, but it is also one more thing to break. One of the main reasons I am considering the Helix is so that I can leave my Kemper, Crybaby, and footswitch at home. How good is the expression pedal on the LT vs the Floor? Is there a difference in the usability or feel, between the two units, other than the grip tape on the Floor? Is the Floor pedal significantly more durable than the LT? Thanks for the help.

The G10S I ordered just arrived, and there is a right angle adapter which came with the unit. I was looking to order a couple spares, in case I lose this one or break it. Would the following be appropriate: https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-GPP-151-inch-Right-Angle-Adaptor/dp/B000068O45/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=1%2F4+inch+right+angle+adapter&qid=1560993194&s=gateway&sr=8-6 If not, does anyone have a recommendation on which right angle adapter to buy, to have a few backups? Thanks.

I set the DXR10 to mic level, and it made a huge difference. Thanks for the help.

Thanks a lot. I'll test that out when I get home.

I have a HD500x hooked up to a Yamaha DXR10, using an XLR cable. I have the master volume at 3 o'clock with channel levels typically around 3 o'clock, as well. I have to turn the volume on the DXR10 up to about one o'clock, just to get to decent Madison Square Living Room sound levels. If I use a Kemper, through XLR, set at -15db I can barely touch the volume on the DXR10 to get to a decent sound level. Same thing if I hook my cell phone up to the 1/4 input. I can put the volume on my phone at max, put the DXR10 at about 8 o'clock, and have it shaking the floor. I have no issue with the HD500x through the Line 6 DT25, using Line 6 link, so I'm 99% sure that I'm doing something wrong, but I can't quite figure out what. Does anyone have any possible idea as to why my levels are so low, using the HD500x with the DXR10? Thanks.

Best cable for Line 6 link between HD500x and DT25

Thanks everyone. -
I saw some older posts talking about various cables for the Line 6 link. I was wondering if there was any newer info on this. I am currently using a cheap Hosa EBU-010 AES/EBU Digital Audio Cable. I don't have any problems with it, but every time I look at how thin it is, I wonder if using something higher end, such as Mogami Gold AES would work better. Anyone try some of the various higher end cables? Thanks.

I would love to be able to put the new JCM800 directly on my DT25. I usually use it with the HD500x, but sometimes I just plug in.

Someone on another forum shared this. It is a little heavier than I was expecting for a JCM800 demo, but still sounds pretty good to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3INcSvDm6NA#t=16

I haven't been able to find a comparison video. How do the two models compare?

Are you using this with a HD500? With a HD500x, I can get good tone with the DT25 head volume at 9 o'clock, the master volume on the HD500 at 1 o'clock. To me, it is acceptable volume for bedroom levels, between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm. I wouldn't play it like that when my neighbors were trying to sleep, but it is fine for daytime volume. I have used it without the HD500 and can get acceptable volume and tone as well, but don't remember the settings off the top of my head. I prefer my distortion coming from the preamp and the warmth coming from the tubes, but different people have different preferences. If you really want power tube distortion at very low volumes, I would think you would want a 1 watt or 5 watt tube amp, or an attenuator.

That is what I thought the documentation meant. Thanks for the confirmation.

I am running the HD500x connected to a DT25 head, using the Line 6 Link. If I plug a device into the CD/MP3 in of the HD500x, there is no sound. Is there supposed to be sound or does this only work with other outputs on the HD500x? Thanks.

I haven't been able to play as much as I would have liked to, since I got this, but I like it so far. It seems built very solid, looks nice, and plugged directly into the amp, I can get some really good tones pretty easily. I put Midi Commander on my phone and used it to test out the different preamps. The main issue that I have is replicating the sounds of the direct-to-head setup when I have the HD500x hooked up to the amp. I know that the sounds are in there, I just need to do some reading, video watching, and experimentation to come up with some more sounds that I like. I tried downloading some of the DT and preamp only patches from line 6, and haven't had much luck with that route. I'm sure that once I spend more time on this, it will work out better, but I knew this when I bought it, so it's not really a complaint.

I used a cheaper Hosa one, and have had no issues with it, but you may need a longer length. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NE8FZ0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks everyone. I decided to go with the head and cab, because of all of the helpful information on here and another forum. Plus, I REALLY wanted the head/cab, and for that kind of money I didn't want to feel like I settled for what I kind of wanted instead of what I really wanted. Thanks again everyone.
-
How hard is the tube change on the combo?
-
Thanks for the information. I really wish there was somewhere close to me to try out a combo and the head/cab, but there isn't.
-
I can get a combo for $800 or the head for $765 and the cab for $255 ($1020 total). Is having the separate head and cab worth the extra cash or would the combo be better? Almost all of the reviews/videos I have seen have been for the head/cab. Thanks everyone.

I was considering buying a DT25 and was wondering if the new, purchasable models for the POD HD 2.6 be available on the DT25. I would be getting both the 500x and the DT25, and using the Line 6 Link cable.
