  1. Hi Once you have bought the hd500x model packs..what do you need to do to get them on your pod?
  2. Thanks. Can you do this using the edit software?
  3. Hi all. I'm struggling with something so I hope someone here can help me. I want a patch where I have 2 amps. One clean and then one heavy...simple enough. I can't seem to get the footswitch assignment correct whereby I want to hit a footswitch that em goes from clean to the crunch amp...and also turns off the clean amp?
  4. I used to be able to change patches on my Digitech rp500 with no lag or sound loss. I use the hd500x in fs 1-8 mode but the sound loss switching from one patch to another was my first noticeable negative.
  5. I know...it's highly unlikely...but imagine if they could. You could download say fuzz packs...with different fuzzed in...distortion packs...more options using the latest pedals from independent companies.
  6. I was thinking more range. I use the rat..big muff but would like to see more boutique pedals to try...say red witch...rhino etc.. Just a thought
  7. Hi I really wish Line6 would sell or put up new individual effects to download. That would be an awesome addition. Would/could this be possible?
  8. Hi I've been trying to easily create a kind of shimmer effect like the Edge from U2 uses. I think I have seen this on the Helix. Ideally as simple as possible to allow to take up say 2 blocks and operate with one footswitch. The nearest I get is the Octo reverb....which I love but wanted to get it a bit more shimmery?. Any ideas guys?.
  9. I've experimented with this and found the fs5-8 mode really useful. I found I was using the same amp (s) but wanted more pedals to use on/off just like a 'real'amp/ pedal situation. I now have the best of both worlds...and labelled up my foot switches. .
  10. Yes...I was thinking along the same line as your suggestion. It'll all be for home use so I think I'll put my cash twards a nice set of speakers as I can get all the tones I need from my POD (I spend a long time tweaking my patches). On the pedal front........is it a case of guitar into the pedals....then pedals into the guitar slot on the POD?. or do you need to do anything on the edit software to get thes ein the loop?. (Forgive my lack of knowlege)
  11. http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/accessories/pc-speakers/51738/orange-amplification-micro-terror-ppc108-review When looking for some PC speakers to use for my HD500X I stumbled across this possible option?. Could be the best of both worlds for my home practice?. A nice little valve amp when I want to use any pedals...OR to plug in the POD into the AUX port on the Amp (as this appears to by-pass the pre-amp)?. Would this work or have I read this wrong?.
  12. Hi As a kinda one man band I've been looking at the Digitech Trio pedal...where it fills in Bass and drums. Would this be usuable plugged into the POD 500X as a separate pedal plugged into the back?. Cheers
  13. Hi I tried plugging in some really old cheap PC speakers and was actually quite impressed. The sound was ok and each patch I have created wasn't affected in any way. The mission now is to get a better grade set of speakers which will ensure a wider range of sound is heard...i.e more bass than what I am currently hearing. All in all a great piece of advice from pianoguyy so thank you for a) saving me money from buying a new amp and b) ensuring I'm hearing what I am used to hearing when I play through my headphones. I guess it was obvious as I bought the 500X because of the array of sounds....amps and effects available..now it's not going to get distorted by playing through another amp.
  14. Something like these I think would work?. I can plug into the headphone socket on the POD and away we go.... http://www.johnlewis.com/logitech-z150-multimedia-speakers-black/p1575102 This should sound better then through a small amp and will save me a load of cash! (so thank you)
  15. Ahhh I see. We certainly have a wide choice of PC speakers over here. With a 3.5mm jack where would I plug these into on the POD?....andwhat wattage (speakers) would you recommend?. Thanks for the info....just trying to get the best sound out the POD.
  16. Hi We don't have alot of gear over here...or the same stuff you guys have access to. My idea is to have a small home amp that I can use some pedals on....but also have the option to plug my POD in when I want other people to hear it (not at a gig). I thinkthe Fly3 can be used as a PC speaker(s) so would these be ok (normal Fly3 with ext cabinet?).
  17. Hi What Amp would be the best small practice....home/bedroom amp for a HD500X?. Would an amp with an FX loop be needed, as smaller amps tend not to have an FX loop?. (Would I be ok to go straight from Guitar to POD....POD to input on AMP?) Looking at Amps similar to Marshall MG15, Blackstar HT1R....FLY3...etc....nothing too big but would take a 500X Cheers Ant
  18. Nice one This may be where Kinslaya is going wrong on the Fly3?
  19. Thanks Would the HD500X sound ok though plugged in through the MP3 port?. or can i say plug my guitar into the 500X and then use a normal guitar cable out into the amp?. I've never used the 500X on anything other than headphones. That Blackstar amp looks perfect though.
  20. Also for me...practice is scales...learning tabs and composing my own stuff...anything really. I usually use headphones as (with 2 small kids) I have to practice late (often 11pm - 2am slot). However, I wanted to spend say up to £300 max on a small amp so I can (if I wanted to) play louder for myself/family to hear. The Blackstar amps appeal to me. Fly3 with ext cabinet is the cheapest option but also didn't want to waste my money on something that will make the HD500x sound bad. I have a separate Big Muff pedal so I could also use the amp without the pod for ease/quick practice sessions. It has to be smallish and not take up too much room. Without being able to get to a shop to test anything out there also seems to be no youtube videos/info on anyone playing their HD500X through any small amp?. I thought I'd throw the idea on here to see if anyone is in the same situation.
  21. Thanks I mainly practice late at night so use headphones. But I'd like to play "out loud" in the hous eand wanted a small lower volume amp to use (not to gig with). I though the Fly3 or Beam would be ideal but cannot get to a shop to try anything. The Fly3 with ext cabinet works as PC speakers so would this not sound ok if the HD500X was plugged into it?. Basically I'll need anything undr 20 watts max....not too expensive and looks cool
  22. Hi After coming from a Digitech rp500, which was more of a "plug in and play" device with minimal tweaking, my HD500X seemed daunting at first. I did youtube a lot of videos and read up a bit before deciding on buying it and knew it was a lot more involved and you could edit deep into the details, which is what I wanted. I think the presets already installed as others have mentioned are just to get you going (I haven't used any of them). It seems like it takes ages to create sounds but after a while it becomes easier. I'm now whipping up patches to my liking ranging from my own material needs to bands I like and play their songs etc.. Start with the Amp sound and add from there. I think once you start to create a few patches you can set the volume on each to sound the same. It looked like at first I was tweaking sounds more than playing but it was worth it as I'm being rewarded with good sounds now..and it's a constant ever changing challenge to get the right sounds I want. Have fun...that's the main thing. This unit is really amazing when you see what it can do.
  23. Thanks zaphodboy I'll give this a bash tonight. I was using the Edit software (as always) but thought you had to assign one pedal per FS as a multi function. Thanks for the advice Oh....if the say the 2 effects are on one switch....how would you then turn them BOTH off?.
  24. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/1018898/ Hi I'm a huge Pumpkins fan and have built a few patches from different eras/songs. I think the one (linked above) is ok...but wanted any thoughs to improve to see if i'm in the right ball park in terms of making it the best it can be. I've had the HD500X a couple of month sso I'm still learning.
  25. Hi Last night (in a rush) I was trying to create a patch where I have a Phaser and Distortion pedal in the chain. Now....I couldn't quickly work out how to set it up so when say the phaser is on...I can then hit the distortion pedal (or another fs footswitch) which would then automatically turn off the phaser? Do you have to assign pedals to footswitches in a certain order (i.e as you create or add the effect to the chain)?. I'm sure this can be acheived and would open up some nice patches for me.
