Helix has more features than AX8 but the same processor. Well AX8 can't be like Helix or with more features. In fact it hasn't the audio interface!
-
I agree and i said this thing in the forums too. The difference is simple: Helix is the flagship of line6 AX8 isn't and it can't disturb the flagship Axe fx. AX8 hasn't also a integrated usb audio interface. This is a huge lack in the features

It's an electromagnet that generates an impulsive magnetic field.I think there are only a few components to make an lfo to feed the electromagnet. Maybe the switch could be rusted or a cable disconnected. I think those are the weakest points. First of all the switch

With all the helix effects you can create a lot of interesting sounds. With the right amount of skill you can create a live sound pad using the looper. Or with a Brian May delay style you can create a fugue piece of music as strings.
-
Essentially you have to use always the neck pick-up the tone "ad libitum".

I've bought it saturday I need a bit of training.

Best Expression Pedal Of Choice For Helix Foot Controller?
Paolo_Maina replied to jwb63's topic in Helix
If you only play at home. It's a waste of money a $200 expression pedal. I bought a Roland EV5 before Helix when I owned boss GT001. Now there is a polarity invertion in the global parameters and it works also with helix. You have to set minimun pot always to zero. So If you want to save your money... -
Less mental masturbations and more guitar playing. Do you own Helix?

The shop where i use to buy my gear has a real Supro dual tone reissue. I'd like to try it. Supro's made another small amp model 10" speaker. http://suprousa.com/1610rt-comet/ I think they are the most interesting amps on the market today. Because the Q/P rate is high. They are almost boutique amp at reasonable price.
-
Change speaker and you'll find the right one maybe a 1x12" or 2x12" Before 3sigma made the Supro cab IR i've tried a 2x12" 65 amp 3sigma It was good too.
-
one secret is 3Sgima IR cab Supro. If you don''t want to buy it, try others cabs of stock or 3rd party. the 3sigma Supro is a 1x12" This the stock cab of Supro that's why it sucks: Soup Pro Ellipse oval speaker 1 x 6x9" Supro® S6616 They could model the black magick of Jimmy Page or one of the reissue models...naaaah the crappiest Supro with a tiny oval speaker is much better! Supro® S6616 This little oddball might seem an unlikely candidate for "classic amp" status but its distinctively fat, thick, organic smoothie of tone (rumored to be the source of some classic Zep tracks) has made it a go-to tool in studios around the world. The Supro® S6616 of the late '50s and early '60s - manufactured by Valco in Chicago - has a single-ended 6V6 output stage, unusual preamp circuitry, and an oval 6"x9" speaker. Wind it up and the S6616 offers juicy, brown overdrive that can sound like a raging stack when mixed with the track, yet with a character all its own. Reined in to clean volumes, it is beautifully spanky and crisp. And at all levels that 6"x9" speaker yields nodes and peaks that contribute to that unusual and distinctive sonic voice that has come to be known as the Supro® S6616 sound.

This is made with Supro model of Helix 3Sgima IR cab:Supro. Squier Telecaster Classic Vibe The bass is made using the guitar and pitch shifter. https://soundcloud.com/pearly-gates-66/pearly-suproposition

I don't like Helix Leslies for a couple of reason that i've already told in other posts. I've seen this video and that's the idea: Can two phasers (not in speed sync) in paralllel and in stereo emulate only the sound modulation of a leslie without the issue of cab swapping or any modification of amp tone? In a point of the video the sound it's very Lesliesque. 2:54 min. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRUoWwrjHas I have to try it. I think it's great idea! If anybody wants to collaborate to refine this rough idea is welcome. P.S. Maybe a touch of tremolo pan could be added...or vibrato

From the list i presume The typical expression pedal especially build for that purpose is a 10K linear. other value and log curve are born for other purposes maybe they can adapted as expression pedal. E.g. Other purposes are Guitar volume or organ volume
-
Maybe. It needs someone who owns it, and test it. I can't. An expression pedal it's only a potentiometer in a pedal. It's not my list, i've found it on the web I decline any responsabilty on data accuracy
-
Ernie ball has a log pot inside is not a expression pedal it's volume pedal to connect to effects loop of an amp. Tipically expression pedals are all linear because you can modify curve inside the device if you need.
-
i don't know , i've used it yesterday as wah pedal in my song....no problem. I've found this list Bespeco VM18L - 20k Boss FV-500 - 10k linear (expression pot) Boss EV-5 - 10k linear Boss EV-7 - 10k linear ("extra range" pot adds up to 50k ohms) Boss FV-50L - 50k linear Ernie Ball VP jr. (active) - 25k log Ernie Ball VP jr. (passive) - 250k log Korg EXP-2 - 50k linear Kurzweil CC-1 - 20k linear Line6 EX-1 - 10k linear Mission EP-L6 - 10k linear Moog EP-2 - 50k linear (reducable) M-Audio EX-P - 10k linear Pigtronix EP-1 - 20k Proel Volume Pedal - 100k linear Roland RV-5 - 10k linear TC Electronic X1 - 25k log Tipically expression pedals are linear because you can modify curve inside the device if you need Ernie ball are not expression pedals they are volume pedals 25k is made for the send return of an amp 250k in front of an amp.

...and light weight ...small footprint ...unexpensive
-
Thank you but i need long cable because when i'm home i use helix lifted from the floor when i'm tweaking my sounds an recording myself You have to reverse polarity in global setting. Minimum pot to zero. I though to inform all users cause EV5 is a very cheap pedal, everybody can save some money.

Roland EV 5 pedal works with Helix. I've tested yesterday. My song: i've used the pedal for Wah effect. https://soundcloud.com/pearly-gates-66/pearly-smooth

Sweetwater Helix Dream Package Deluxe - Includes Guitar and Amps
Paolo_Maina replied to laxtlo's topic in Helix
I think they are stoned. I'd like to know the one who will buy the package. I haven't made any calculation but... Is there any advantage buying that package instead buying all separately?
