I've tried with a shure sm57 and my Mic input worked well. For maximum safety I plugged and unplugged the Mic with helix main power switched off I hope next time it will work again. Sound quality is good

Nice job! impressive, i have a Shure Sm57 and a Rode NT3. What is your opnion about Helix mic preamp and interface for vocals. Are you a pro? my nick on SC is pearly gates 66.

Ok are there precautions to follow? when i plug or unplug the microphone and about phantom power. What is the best way to operate to avoid voltage peaks that can damage Helix.

It needs urgent explanation from Line 6 digital igloo or uber guru. I think i don't try it, before i understand more about the cause of what it appened to you. Thank you.

Please specify how to operate safely without damage anything. What is the danger? have the vocals been recorded using only Helix as preamp and effects?

I posted to show how is simple to achieve good sounds with a simple set up, anyway i'm not a guitar virtuoso, i like to build a song and mixing. In this case i exeprimented the new york compression trick that i recently learn from YT mixing tutorial. I'd like to listen to anybody who recorded vocals using helix. Of course i'm glad if you liked my song. It's not perfect i made it in a sunday afternoon, 2 or 3 hours. It's my hobby.

Your are missing the reason why he made the videos. Some people buy amps via web they clone the amp using kemper and they return the amp to the shop a few days later, the shop must refund the customer because there is an European rule about item purchased by web that allow to recede the purchase in a week or two(i don't rember) and completely refunded . This is immoral.

When friends of mine ask me why i haven't bought Kemper instead of Helix I answer. Because i'm not a professional who needs carry on tour his studio sound, I want only something that sound good. I haven't many expensive amps to clone. In addition i like design of Helix and when i saw demo video about the GUI simple and intuitive. I tought i want it. I used for work german PLC software and japanese sotfware and always, german GUI it's more intricated complex, japanese is simple and effective. Also german language is complicated and this reflex in the way they think. Kemper always seemed to me complicated and I have nothing to profile. This is an example of what i mean. In this little song everything is played using only Helix and a Squier Telecaster CV even Bass and organ.(except drums). amp are Matchless and Supro. Recorded directly via USB in a notebook Toshiba. I told him i think it will cost a lot. I noticed you are loosing your aplomb. Do you want to bet that soon or later you will do a cab or similar to amp Helix properly? Not something like an esoteric amp system $$$, something pratical compact and that looks like standard old style cab because guitarist are very very conservative. The best cab ever created? No but something decent. The majority who bought Helix aren't professional they use to play in pubs with no P.A. or with a bad P.A. with microscopic stage and they rehearse in cellars or basement. I'm one of them. So don't think big (and expensive) but practical and effective (and possibly cheap). The disquisition about what is a real FRFR, is nice but it's academic.

Nice idea but i think it will cost a lot, but it will be a killer modelling amp anyway i voted your idea.

My opnion is the same of the article. In the existing systems there are pros and cons because they are made before the modelling amp technology you have to adapt something already made for other purposes to the new technology. Now the market needs a product made specially for modelling. it's not only me. I'm pointing at the moon and you're watching my index finger. It's a general discussion.

It needs a specific product modelling technology, the right one is not a traditional cab and not a P.A. cab or FRFR (call it as you please). All these products don't fit perfectly with the new modelling technology, They were created for other uses. They are palliatives. I'm talking also about money. Professionals have a lot of money to spend but normal people cannot spend a fortune for esoteric amp systems. :)

When I work (I make Industrial automation electric panels) i use the same tactics than digital Igloo. If a costumer says "if you take away that electronic component how much money I save ?" i say less than the real value saved. So the costumer says "ok leave it" so he doesn't annoy me and I don't earn less. When a costumer says "if you add that electronic component how much money i have to add?" i say more than the real value so in any case if he annoys me, I earn much money. business is business. In Italy we say Don't try to teach cats how to climb up :D :D :D

This is a nice article about amp modelling and FRFR. And the conclusion it's what i've try to say to Digital Igloo. There's no specific product, there is a gap in the production somebody has to fill it. Now Digtal Igloo says no no no but at the end line 6 will make a specific amp modelling cab because the market push to that direction. I saw a video recorded at namm2016 that shows kemper added a new expression pedal assign mode similar to helix style. It seems to me.

I'd like to know because I was more a boss/Roland user than line6 user until helix. I sold my boss Gt001 that is the same of gt100 in a small package and I bought helix. Before I only owned the DL4 delay line6 great delay. I've never liked pods. I owned yamaha magic stomp long time ago. I don't like kemper first of all the design of the lunch box make me sick. Maybe because I'm Italian and for us style and design are important. I live in Milan the fashion is important here. Helix has a great design.

Because nobody want to Pay for something that he doesn't need. If somebody has helix he doesn't need another complete amp modeller shaped like a combo amp. He needs an powered cab. Anyway believe me or not amp modelling is a young technology yet and there is a hole in the production there isn't a specific cab for amp modelling. If you will not fill that hole somebody will. I have to say that other brands make amp modeller with integrated power amp. Maybe one day you will follow that road. In conclusion there is not a specific product today every solution is a palliative. P.S. About marketing strategies: I'm curious and I'd like to know if your competitor Roland will follow you and make a step up to higher quality amp modelling and join the match you are playing vs kemper and fractal.

The value of your electronics is only 100$? ok i believe you. i though more anyway... Firehawk looks very good. Will you produce a smaller firehawk? i wouldn't spend another 1000$ (or euro)
