I want to start with an explanation, I hate batteries! I forget to charge them, I remember to charge them then leave a cable plugged in and drain them. My JTV 69s is in hospital getting set up - for the second time - when it came it was horrible so to save the wait of my usual luthier I went to the big city and he made a pigs ear of it I persevered for a year then to celebrate my Amplifi 150 sent it off to get better to where it should have went in the first place. sorry I'm rambling. While this was happening I put my battery on charge and thought I should really buy another then found there £40 here in the UK and thought surely there is a power adapter if it was more money it would still be worth it to get rid of the battery. Well if there is I can't find it or anything saying there isn't so if anyone can enlighten me I'd be grateful. I was using my HD500 but it's a bit big for a power pack and that's all it was. Anyway I had to sell it to buy my Amplifi. A solution would be great before I need to buy a spare battery.

I was on another thread here before I bought my gear and I thought I'd grasped this with the Shortboard mk||. When used with the amp you'll be controlling 4 presets there is no more. But, hooked up to an iPad you have the control of the bank up and down and presets for each bank. I bought my amp yesterday and got the shortboard at the same time. I feel £169 is too much to control 4 presets I hope I haven't got the wrong idea. Amp 4 IOS bank up and down will work.

Now that is a different story. That's a fine number and worth investing in a foot controller Thanks for that.

Just checked the video on YouTube again and it's not too clear. He mentions the banks x 4 presets = 128 patches but when he says you can access the banks I was talking about here it shows you the ipad. But here he says the LAST BANK is user! So does that mean everything else I can scroll through is line 6 preset and if I modify It I need to overwrite one of my user 4. Cos I've never found a factory sound I've been able to use unchanged yet. If that is the case then this brings us back to £170 to switch between 4 presets and 4 effects on and off + the pedal functions. Now if I'm wrong - and that's not uncommon - then if you could change all bank presets saved to ipad via the pedal that's a different beast and worth the money. So if anyone could tell me I'd be greatful.

So are you saying you can access more than 4 presets but only 4 user. But you can access your iOS presets. I'm confused. But I'm also concerned I was about to buy an Amplifi 150 with the Shortboard MK|| the board is £169.99 that's a chunk of change I'm now thinking is it worth it. I'm sure I watched a video of Sean and he was saying you could switch through banks and presets and it was a lot more than 4. I'm going to go and watch it again now to make sure. I don't care if it's on the amp or on the iOS cos I'll always have the ipad connected anyway. But I'm not rushing now this is a big investment and I just sold my HD500 to help with it but I was buying what I saw in the advertising not what I'm hearing on here.

Line 6 link AWOL
petepraise replied to petepraise's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Thanks for the replies I will try it with different cables this week while we're not gigging and see what happens. I'll stick the normal cables on the tester and see if anything shows up. Thanks again. -
We had a gig last Saturday and everything worked as it should fantastic. We went to our gig tonight and set up everything as usual no changes the line 6 link was dead. The speaker linked to the desk had an L displaying instead of a 1 and the other had what looked like a bit of a 2. I've never seen this before. No sound from anything. I tried switching it all off and setting up again but nothing worked. We always follow switching rules eg desk speakers > speakers desk. With about five minutes to the gig starting I abandoned it and decided to try standard R & L cabling and it worked fine but I'm really bummed about the link and want to know what went wrong. My gut feeling is cable but it took the audio for the standard set up no problem so unless it's a weird data thing I'm stumped. Any ideas or indeed an explanation of the L would be appreciated.

I have to give a big second to that from Scotland. I felt I had to as you said I've done my fair share of complaining when things are not right - smelly speakers :) - but I am blown away with the Sonic Port VX and I've not even had the fun of connecting my guitar to it yet. I sing in a trio and we use backing tracks, I've been using my iPad 2 with a IoDock and for a while I wanted to move to my Air but couldn't. When I saw the VX I thought I'd give it a try and it is amazing, I use OnSong to play our tracks and I just plugged in the VX to the iPad air and myy twin jack to jack into two channels on the Stagescape M20D The tracks played the way they should even split format with music and backing vocals on seperate stereo tracks but in their own channel at the desk. This is a fantastic bit of kit and I've just scratched the surface. I plugged the supplied USB charge cable with my iPad charger into the VX while a track was playing to make sure it did nothing to the audio and all it did was start charging my iPad. Wow is correct my friend. I would recommend this to anyone it will turn your IPad into a killer music device. - Now onto an Amplifi - hopefully!!

How Do You Conect Your Ipad...

Well last gig and the stgescape app worked flawlessly. So I guess I'd say it's ok with the new OS. Pity a lot of other things don't seem to. -

Well, last night's attempt was a disaster. The app kept disconnecting from the desk and I eventually ran out of time and had to go back to the desk and set the mix from there. We'll see what happens tonight! -

Used stagescape app tonight as usual with 8.2 only thing that happened was a freeze when at back of church using quick tweak on a recorded sound check. A quick re-start of the app sorted it and didn't have any problems after that. Never had that before though, had it loose the signal then re-connect. But overall it performed well as usual. We see how it does on Sunday. -

Well, this router is a game changer! Went to our practice yesterday and hooked up the router, when I opened the iPad app it connected before I had a chance to press the green button. I closed the cover after a bit and we recorded for a while. When I opened the case and the iPad woke up it connected immediately in the past the latter action would have meant a lot of shutting down reconnecting restarting iPad and sometimes still no deal. I think Line 6 should change the recommendations out of the box to this baby! I got to try my XD V75 HS for the first time since I bought it about six months ago and while I used it the whole day I felt it wasn't as good a sound as my Beta 58 we usually use and I know it should be, so I think another trip to that forum is in order. Thanks for all your help guys, this forum has made a real difference. -

We'll I found it I should have waited before I posted! It' s under the Wireless > Channel and SSID both bands are listed and the setting is wireless mode, one of the choices is off. I'll take the laptop on Saturday just to check if it's retained the setting but if it hasn't I'll need to leave it cos we just don't have time at a gig to add this into the set up and carry a laptop around. That's why I moved to iPad. -

Well it's probably me but I can't find anywhere to turn off 2.5. I've hooked the router up to my laptop and logged on through IE to the router page but can't find anywhere. Can't find it in the manual either. -

Thanks for that I'll check out the Belkin instructions. I hope it's a set and forget cos we couldn't start taking a laptop with us, we spent a fortune to get rid of it. PP -

Thanks Dboomer, I haven't done that. Would I need to use a laptop to do it? I've had a 75 headset for a while, still in the box we don't use it in the group - although I might once I get used to it - but I'm going to use it when I'm playing guitar on my own so even just for that I would want to shut it off. And we've got a full day this Saturday to practice and get settings, were also playing the place in a few weeks so I'd want to shut it off ASAP and dial in a right good sound for the venue. I'm planing on trying my new mic and guitar then too. PP -

I just bought the Belkin n600 it actually says play on the box when I went into the iPad wifi there were a few belkin options and one was labeled 5ghz so I was able to go strait to it. I had a USB to Ethernet already and gave it a go and after a shaky start it connected and seems fine now. It wouldn't connect and said no network adapter the router had went through its start up and the light changed from blue to orange I thought because there is no internet. I tried switching on the router and then quickly plugging in the USB so the desk looked for it before it got to the orange light and it worked. After that it seemed to connect ok the big test will be this weekend if it goes pear shaped I guess I'll just need to buy the Apple one. What's another £25 when I've already spend £110 trying to get a stable connection 😡 (moan over) PP -
Footswitch For Stagescape M20d
petepraise replied to Profett's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Thank you Dboomer! We're singing at, of all things a funeral tomorrow and the reverb status has been driving me nuts since I bought the desk. We went to the church tonight and set up the system and the first thing I tried was your group work around and it is fantastic. I set a new group, added reverb to it and nothing else now when I press the foot switch I've always used to mute the reverb I get a lovely red indicator. I can tell strait away now if I've forgot to engage it. Red means no reverb this was my only downside to this kit. As a bonus when recording a song to mix at the back on iPad I couldn't get reverb on playback now I un-mute the group and reverb is heard. Fantastic. Off subject but iPad kept loosing connection tonight, I see on another post people are recommending a belkin router and apple adapter, that's another hundred pounds and I spent forty pounds on a wi-fi dongle that was recommended by line 6 Enough moaning I'll enjoy my reverb light for now. Hi guy's I asked something similar else where and was told to leave it as the L6 link would change it as needed. I have experimented a bit and I did notice if I put the variax to an electric model the l2m sets to electric guitar and when I called up an acoustic model it switched to acoustic guitar. The settings are also being saved on the 500 on a preset basis. I have to say though I'm struggling to get a sound I'm 100% happy with but that could be my uselessness at setting effects I've never really used a lot up till now. PP

Thanks, I'll give that a go

Ok I read a lot of posts about getting a good amp sound but it is always to play distorted. I need a good clean sound and I thought I'd found the perfect one on You Tube. The player used Pod pro blackface "totally clean" he said and a bit of reverb. Sounded good to me. So I've recently bought a "dream rig" only as I'm only likely to use distortion when I'm on my own pretending to be a rock star- and we were buying a new PA namely the stagescape - I opted for the L2M also have a 2t available. I read there was no point in owning a tube amp like the DT25 if you only want clean sounds. Now onto my problem: When I go into HD edit and call up a new tone add the Blackface I turn the drive off - for no distortion right? The master volume up at 100 and I get virtually no sound and the little sound there is sounds crap! I'm sure I'm doing something wrong so if anyone has any info or knows somewhere I can go back to school and read about it I would appreciate it. My acoustic seems so much simpler, but I can't have a "Dream Rig" ornament in the studio I want to use it so please help if you can. PP
