  1. That makes sense but I didn't switch snapshots. In fact, I didn't touch the device the whole gig except for one song that I activated simple pitch for. This sudden transposition or hidden activation didn't happen until many songs after that. Even if it were activated via snapshot, I would think I'd see it's stomp lit up but it was not. I have been using hx stomp and simple pitch for years now and have never seen this before either. Now, it's happened two gigs in a row. I did a factory reset and hope that solves the problem.
  2. I'm a bass player and I use Simple Pitch in my HX Stomp XL to drop my tuning by a half step for a few of the songs my band plays. I have it configured to turn on and off with a footswitch in my preset. Last night and for the second gig in a row, I started playing a song and suddenly I'm not playing the right notes because Simple Pitch (I assume) has me transposed. This is not me forgetting to turn the footswitch back off after I need it. It's not me accidentally stepping on anything either. The footswitch is even visually showing that the stomp is off but Simple Pitch is clearly activated. Panicking, I turn my unit off and back on and that fixes the problem. My band mates are not going to be happy with me if this happens again over some effects unit I'm using. Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround someone would suggest? I have the latest firmware installed.
  3. Despite the tips and everyones success here with the Boss FS-7, I'm not able to get it to work. I'm using the HX Stomp XL though. Not sure if that makes a difference. My problem is that I can only get one of the switches on the FS-7 to work. I don't think it's a problem with the FS-7 because sometimes it's the A switch that works and sometimes its the B switch that works after fiddling with the settings. Mode is set to momentary on the FS-7. The polarity doesn't seem to make a difference but at the moment it's on II. I'm connected to the Stomp through output B. FS Tip is set to FS7. FS Ring is set to FS8. Both polarities are set to inverted. FS7 is set to preset up and FS8 is set to preset down. The firmware is 3.15. Any ideas? UPDATE: Problem solved. I was using a TS and not a TRS cable. I really kind of wanted to use this to cycle between snapshots but a press of the switch always moves up or down by two snapshot numbers. It looks like the down movement is one and the up movement is the other. I wonder why preset movement doesn't have this issue. It works if I switch the FS-7 to latch mode but then the lights go on and off which doesn't make sense. I may just get one of those little mini two button switches.
  4. If I had to guess, the reasons for not adding additional blocks or showing DSP percentage are half truths. It's important for Line 6 to gain additional market with the Pod GO, not eat into their existing Helix market. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what these features would do. From a business perspective, it's important to have a low barrier to entry into the Line 6 modeling ecosystem and that's where the Pod GO comes in. Once users get proficient with it and start running into these limits, then it's time for them to upgrade to Helix. Displaying DSP percentage would enable people to more easily work around these limits. I'm ok with this. It's a business that needs to make good business decisions and I want them to thrive so they can continue to innovate.
  5. If you aren't looking for a lot of different sounds and you don't mind stomping different pedals and turning knobs on them and your amp to go from one to the other, then yes, I'd say the Pod GO is not right for you. I believe I've heard a lot of people say it sounds almost as good as the real gear but haven't really heard the claim that it sounds better. There are a lot of variables in the signal chain that affect sound quality so hard to make objective statements.
  6. Does this also apply if you're going into the return of an effects loop of a real amp?
  7. Maybe I can save someone from having to do a factory reset. I had this same problem today and figured out that the issue was that in Global Settings, I had to Return Type set to Aux instead of Return like it should have been. I forgot that Aux and Return share the same input and I had set it to Aux at some point to send external audio through. Changing Return Type to Return immediately fixed the problem.
  8. [SOLVED] I reached out to the app support and Tom Quayle responded with the suggestion that I re-calibrate the note detection after making the direct connection. I just didn't think about that since I thought that only applied to the microphone input.
  9. For those of you not familiar with it, Tom Quayle has recently released a really cool app called solo that helps with fretboard visualization and playing through changes. For example, you can pick a tune and a sequence of chord tones (1,3,5,7 for example) and it will listen to your playing and go from chord to chord, verifying that you have played the correct notes in the correct order. Lots of other stuff too but that's the basics. The app detects what you are playing by two different methods: by listening through your device's microphone or by direct connection to the device. The microphone method works but it's not perfect. I'd like to connect to my iPad from my POD Go to get the more precise note detection. However, I'm not able to figure out how to do that. I've tried the device's USB connection to a camera adapter (USB to lightning) and a 1/4" instrument to lightning cable coming from the left output and also trying it from the FX send output. I haven't been able to get either to work. Any pointers? I thought maybe there was something in the global settings I needed to change but no luck finding something that works so far. Thank you.
  10. I use the Tech 21 Deuce Deluxe for both guitar and bass.
  11. Yes. IRs are universal. I bought those and use them in my Pod Go and they made a world of difference on the bass presets. Enough so that I sold my bass amp.
  12. The ones I bought from Choptones are fantastic. https://www.choptones.com/collections/cabinets-ir/products/bass-essentials-vol1-cabinet-ir
  13. I haven't used it at a gig yet to say for sure but at home, it's pretty loud for practice just on nine o'clock. Check out this very long thread on the DD at the gear page for a whole lot more detail. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/tech-21-deuce-deluxe-frfr-guitar-cab.2009436/
  14. I'll also add that a Tech 21 Deuce Deluxe is an outstanding FRFR cab to use with both bass and guitar. It was meant for both and sounds fantastic. I sold my bass amp as a result. Very affordable too.
  15. Welcome to the club! I’m a little confused. Your title says your amp sounds muffled but your last sentence says you’re playing out of studio monitors. If you were playing out of an amp, then cabs are supposed to be turned off as your real amp/cab serves that purpose. If you’re playing out of something that is supposed to be FRFR, like studio monitors, then the cab sims are meant to be turned on. If that’s the case and the sound is muffled, make sure the high cut on the cab or an eq block isn’t turned way down.
  16. I just put one of these wireless receivers into the aux input and connect wirelessly to stream audio. Makes it super simple. You will of course need a 1/4” adapter.
  17. @luca5xAwesome! Glad you found something you like. The IRs work differently than the presets (.pgp files). They will be .wav files and you’ll use Pod Go Edit to import those into the Impulse Response folder. Once there, you will use them to create or modify existing presets. For example, take one of the stock bass presets and replace the cabinet with the Choptones IR. You’ll be amazed at the difference. Your Cliff tribute pack probably also came with an IR or two that you are free to use with other presets. The Bass Essentials pack has a lot of options though and it’s only $11 right now.
  18. I think you'll have better luck with new bass cabinet IRs than presets. I just bought a pack from Choptones that sound fantastic (they're on sale right now too). I wasn't too impressed with the stock bass presets either. Take anyone of the stock bass presets and replace the cab with one of the Choptones IRs and the difference is night and day.
  19. I just ordered a Tech 21 Deuce Deluxe and have high hopes for it. Price is in between the Headrush and the powercab. It has some good reviews. See this discussion for more info. I really like that it works with a bass too. I tried the Headrush units (both the 108 and the 112) and didn’t like them at all. They were very bassy and muffled sounding. That was with a Headrush unit though and I didn’t put a lot of effort into it like some here have. I currently use the power amp in of the Katana Artist mkii and it sounds pretty good.
  20. I just happen to already have the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohms. Would the Pod Go really sound that much better with the 32 or 80 Ohm version? Enough to justify buying another set? From reading elsewhere, it sounded like the biggest difference would be that the 250 Ohm version would require more volume but would allow you to hear more detail. I also read that the lower Ohm version might sound a little more bassy but that ultimately it would just be a preference. What do you think? Anyone tried both versions? I see the response from the Beyerdynamics CS rep above but CS reps aren’t always as knowledgeable as we might hope. Thanks!
  21. Hello. When playing through my Amplifi TT with headphones (Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 ohms), I have started noticing a low buzzing sound from the low A and E strings. At first I thought I had fret buzz going on with my guitar until I switched to another pair of headphones (Sennheiser Amperior) and the buzzing went away. I have the latest firmware update installed in my AmplifiTT. Maybe it's a problem with the headphones? I don't hear this buzzing when just listening to music with them though. Is there a particular pair of headphones in the range of $50 to $150 someone would recommend for using with the AmplifiTT?
