  1. I’m really interested in your opinion on the difference between the alto and the HeadRush. I’ve been eyeing frfr options. I had planned on waiting for the HeadRush to be back in stock at Sweetwater but a used ts212 w/ Bluetooth(not that Bluetooth really matters to me) just showed up on my local Craigslist for $150. The powercab option is enticing but more than I would prefer to spend. Just a bedroom rocker at this time. Have you only played bass thru your frfr’s? In your opinion is there really that much of a difference between the two? thanks
  2. I have not had my Helix for very long and I’m stumbling through learning how to use it. Not to hijack the thread but I’m curious where your headphone volume knob is set around? I know there are several things that can give you more volume such as the amp channel volume or overdrive setting ect . With the 3.0 dB bump on the output block my headphone volume knob is around 1-2oclockish. Before the 3.0 dB I had to have it around 3oclock or higher. again, total newb here.... When I got the Helix that was the first thing that struck me is why is it so darn quiet through my headphones.
  3. I have the 250 ohm version of these cans. I have to bump the output block up by at least 3.0db otherwise its way to quiet. This may be due to the 250ohms but I tried the 80ohm version and I think I had to do the same.
  4. Thanks for the replies. Makes sense to leave some headroom with the volume knob.
  5. The reason I’m asking is that I recall.reading in a different thread that when using the Helix without headphones the main volume knob should be set all the way up,for some reason. Wondering if the same applies with the headphone volume knob. Trust me, I am happy with this awesome piece of gear. Many more dumb questions to come. : ) thaank for for the reply.
  6. New Helix user here. When using the Helix with headphones should the headphone volume knob be set all the way up and the volume be adjusted from the output ‘block’ (not sure is that’s the correct term) and/or the amp block. I’m finding that I havie to increase the output block levels to get a decent volume when the headphone volume knob is at 12 o’clock ish. I know I could increase the headphone volume knob level, just wondering what the consensus is. I’m using Beyerdynamic DT 770 250ohm which sound good, I tried several different cans before settling on these. Thanks.
  7. Hi everyone...I'm new to the forums. I picked up a used HD500x about a week ago, I love it it but the looper function was giving my the issue of my playback loop having the 3db or so drop in playback volume even though playback volume was set to 100, this was driving me nuts. I searched the internet for a solution but found none... I was making due by keeping the playback volume set at 60 and then bump up the playback volume to increase the volume of the playback. Not a soultion for me if I was going to use the looper function in a live situation, this bummed me out. Don't ask me why this worked but I set the playback volume to 100 and the hi and low cut to 100 and tried a loop, the playback was now at 50 percent volume...argggg WTF. I then kept the playback volume at 100 and dropped the hi and low cut back down to 0 and tried a loop...BAM now my playback volume is the exact same volume as when I played it!!!!! Again, I'm not sure why this worked...glitch in the unit? Hopefully this can help someone out Peace
