  1. Yeah that's the same problem I have found. I suppose I could always buy the TT plug and strip and solder it to another cable and make my own adapter as a last resort. Thanks for looking into it!
  2. Thank you for the reply. Were you using the Truetone to power the L6? I want to use the stock L6 power brick but I need an adapter cable that takes the connector to a 90 degree instead of the straight end that the stock one has.
  3. Hello All, I am worried that the straight end connector on my HX FX PSU is going to get kicked and wreck the adapter or unit because it sticks so far out from the back of the box. Does anyone know of a cable adapter that fits with a 90 degree? I know Truetone makes an L6 adapter cable, but I don't think the original PSU plug is going to fit into it because it's looking for a standard DC barrel size correct? Just thought I'd check with the big brains for any ideas :) Right now I just have it sitting further down on my board so it's not exposed out in the open, but I really need the space below it to put a couple more pedals on. Thanks!
  4. I bought my Helix with the best intentions of digging in and creating my own sounds, but soon found I didn't have (more like want to take) time to really deep dive to find the magic on my own. I picked up a few here and there, but like so many things, what I heard on YouTube didn't even sound close once I downloaded and installed. Fremen were the best to my ears, and sounded the closest at home as they did on his YT demo. If you have the time and want to dig in and learn, check out Jason Sadites on YouTube. He does very detailed tutorials.
  5. Helix Native is a VST plug in for your DAW and yes, it is essentially a software only version of your floor or rack unit. If you aren't using Sonar, Pro Tools, Reaper, or any sort of computer recording software then no, you don't need it. Even if you are doing recording, it's not a requirement. I use my Helix LT as an audio interface for my DAW and reamping is very easy with it because of its multi channel USB interface, so you have the same power without the latency of software plugins.
  6. A little time and patience :) Seriously though, it sounds like you have your bases covered as far as equipment. Don't get frustrated if your patches don't sound as good as you think they should at the beginning. There are a lot of tips and techniques that are unique to modeling that take may some time to master. There are many threads about users who immediately regret purchasing only to be amazed after they get a little guidance and are pointed in the right direction. These forums are a great resource. I am fairly new to modeling as well and they have been an enormous help.
  7. To be fair, it took me about a week to get my strat sounding good with high gain on my GT100. I also saw in one NAMM video where the Boss rep said the software was still being tweaked on the 1000. For a grand, I hope they can make it sound better that what I've heard so far!
  8. I'm looking forward to more toys in the toybox. I've only had my Helix for a week so I'm still trying to learn it. I've seen the updated effects list and heard the preview of the new reverbs and I'm afraid I'm going to have to start all over again lol.
