Holy smokes, thank you! This saved my night. My computer powered down inexplicably in the 2 minutes I walked away from it, and I thought I was completely screwed. I have waited so long to get this device, and was so careful to check and double check that I was getting the firmware install correct. I was getting the boot failure message, and the hx edit wouldn't detect the device, and I was looking at waiting 12 hours to put in a call to line 6 support and having a full on screaming meltdown...and then I did a couple of searches and found this thread and the flippin' Line 6 updater worked....it detected my helix and completed the update.
