Please Try This Little "experiment"
McLenison replied to McLenison's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
It seems to be specific to the "D" string only when detuned to a "C". Please try this experiment on your James Tyler Variax and let me know if you hear it too. Remember to hit a fretted note first before striking it open. Thanks! -

I haven't tried it on any other models in WB yet. I submitted a ticket on this flaw (feel free to do the same!). Let's keep our fingers crossed. -

Same for 12 string acoustics! -

It seems to appear especially after fretting a note first then hitting the open D. -

Much worse than a warble! It's like a D and D# clashing! -
I get the weirdest out-of-tune anomaly from all of the 12 string models on my JTV-89. I tune my guitar down a whole step (for singing purposes) and use the virtual capo for bringing it back up to standard pitch for some tunes. I would appreciate it if you can try this and report here if you get a clashing tone. Here's what to do: 1) Tune your "D" string down to a "C" (no need to tune down other strings) 2) Pluck the second fret of the "D" string and immediately pluck the "D" string open If you hear the "clashing tones", pluck other frets on the "D" string, then open for different pitch clashes I typically use the second position Rick 12, but I notice this will all 12 string models Much appreciate it.

Thanks. I ordered one from Sweetwater when I got the guitar and they are on back-order with no ETA. I couldn't find another online store that carried it. -

There's no indication of a sleep mode in the 89 manual but if it's still drawing power, then its of little use to me. I would like a "kill switch" program that would be the equivalent of unplugging. I rehearse daily and unplugging every time I take a break or get a phone call means I have to turn the amp down too. -

A Gibson SG-61 would also be a nice addition. -
I downloaded HD Workbench and it is loaded successfully and looks great. I uninstalled the old Workbench to avoid the conflict I've been experiencing. I downloaded 2.0. I plugged in my JTV-89 with all cables connected correctly, 2 green lights on. How do I upload the new 2.0 update at this point? I'm clicking on the 2.0 downloaded program to initiate the update to JTV-89 and this is where I'm stuck. How should I proceed?

Hurry Up, Already, Line 6!
McLenison replied to LarryLion's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I led a team that did software beta-testing and anytime any additional functionality or fixes were addressed, you had to completely test and retest every possible scenario to make sure it didn't adversely affect another area. So Line 6 take all the time you need! -

Besides new or better models, is there any word on functionality changes? Maybe like a battery "sleep" mode so you don't have to pull out the cable or battery when not playing. -
Problem Saving To Custom 1 Setting
McLenison replied to McLenison's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Thanks everyone. I was on the phone with Line 6 support today. They were VERY helpful. Evidently when copying an existing model to Custom 2 (without Workbench), the procedure needs to be done quickly or it may "time out" thus wont save. Line 6 support also experienced this anomaly on their end while on the phone. After quickly doing the procedure, as they recommended, I was able to successfully save to Custom 2. -
Rick 12, Still Lacking Realism?
McLenison replied to McLenison's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I'll be experimenting soon. I'll keep you posted. I just resolved another issue today with copying and saving a model to Custom 2. Evidently this procedure needs to be done quickly or it "times out" and wont save. -
Not Able To "connect" In Workbench

Thanks! Everything was hooked up correctly, but I'm not sure what side the red light was on. I'll try again this weekend. -
