  1. Oh it does not have to be easy! :) I have all the time in the world(well... sort of)... Thanks for the link by the way! I'll check that now.
  2. I am taking a dive into the split settings(dynamic) so I can use two cabs for a mix of the sound. Apparently you can select a frequency to 'split' the sound into the two cabs. That way I should be able to control the tone with my tone control know on the guitar. Add more high and the other cab kicks in. And when/if I can get that to work I can even put the split before the amp and add one more amp to respond to the dynamic split. To be continued... :)
  3. Thanks. I am already working with that solution yes, I may need a treble bleed on my ES335 style guitar. For the rest I am indeed working more and more with the volume and tone controls. Sometimes it is easier to just make a snapshot for both pickups but I am trying to get it so that I can do exactly what the great guitar tone folks do. Call it a hobby! :) I have several Pod Go patch packs for sale and now that I have switched to the Helix Floorboard I want to start creating packs for that beautiful machine. And to have something in there that would respond to your pickup settings would - I think - be a great patch for people to work with.
  4. Some additional info for you all ; chatgpt is useless in this case. It advises settings that are not even on the Helix, so that is not perfect.... :)
  5. Hello to all, I could use some help ; When we see someone like Joe Bonamassa playing his Les Paul, we can see that when he selects his bridge pickup the sound is rhythm and quite clean but when he then switches to the bridge pickup he immediately has a soaring lead solo sound. Without touching anything except the controls on his guitar. He often does not activate/deactivate any pedals for this; he just switches the pickup selection and the other sound is heard. I program my own patches, and that goes very very well(and is enormous fun), but I am trying to emulate the behaviour of the amp sound based on the pickup selection. I am getting there slowly but I wonder if you have any tips. So my ideal situation would be that I can switch pickups and get two distinctly different sounds without using snapshots etcetera. So the way people like Joe Bonamassa and other professionals work; they hardly touch the effects(or snapshots) and are still able to switch the sound by just using the controls on my guitar. All input is welcome. Please keep in mind that I am now quite experienced in programming the Pod Go and the Helix(I am also a software developer in real life...). So extremely basic hints and tips, as welcome as the help is, probably will not be very useful. If anyone has a patch I can use as a starting point that would be even better! Hope to get some tips here, thanks in advance.
  6. I use a Helix Floorboard with three guitars that have a completely different frequency spectrum. That means that when I program a patch for the 335-style guitar it will have WAY too much high when i plug in my Ibanez Strat-style guitar. The differences are so big that I cannot correct it by using the tone control on the guitars, which is what I want to be able to do. I know all about eq in the Helix but I do not want to tweak all the time when changing guitars. I do not want to turn on/off specific settings per guitar and I really don't want to make three patches for every sound! The global EQ obviously works for all of the Helix so that is not the solution. For now i have made separate banks for the guitars but that means that improving a patch means doing it three times. I have just bought an eq pedal to put in front of the Helix so I can set that and turn it on when using a specific guitar(so off = 335, on = Strat). So my question is "What is the best way to use multiple very different guitars with the Helix Floorboard?" All useful input will be greatly appreciated.
  7. I love this gear but I CANNOT believe that no one at Line 6 wrote an import / conversion program to upload/import Pod Go patches to the Helix. Obviously you cannot do it the other way around, but this is UpGrAdIng to a Helix! How can you force me to manually recreate 200+ patches on the Helix??? Everything is fantastic about the Line 6 products, but THIS rather sucks.I love this gear but I CANNOT believe that no one at Line 6 wrote an import / conversion program to upload/import Pod Go patches to the Helix.
  8. I now have six patch packs available, The packs can be found here(with audio 'preview' files) : https://payhip.com/RobsPodGoCollection Thank you for reading this, I have attached a patch to this post for your enjoyment. It is an approximation of Steve Miller's sound on his song The Stake. I have made some very simple Youtube videos with more information about some of the pack : Steve Miller.pgp
  9. Hi to all, I cannot find any information in the terms and condition about publishing links to Pod Go Patches for sale. So my apologies if this is not allowed but I have created many patches for a pittance(a few euros) that some people might be interested in. https://payhip.com/b/T8SXZ I have also already published a number of free patches here at Line6 for your pleasure! https://line6.com/customtone/profile/RobBaartwijk
  10. Hi all, Simple question; can anyone help me save a lot of time searching? I am looking for a delay in the Pod Go with the longest feedback, preferably up to 4 seconds. I want to try out some Frippertronics and I need the longest delay possible. I know Robert Fripp used two tape delays/echos in serial so that would be my next step; using two 2 seconds delays. I would basically be emulating something like the Strymon Timeline. Any help is appreciated!
  11. The response starts out with 'that's subjective innit? that is YOUR opinion innit?" etcetera. I do not post something like that without having feedback from die hard users on other forums as well as over 40 years of recording experience. You are therefore assuming quite a lot. I quote : "I've never had cause to report any post on this community before but I consider your post has crossed that line, & is inappropriate." If you cannot take the word arse then I seriously do not understand how you can survive in the modern world sir. And if you wish to go to the headmaster with your complaint that says more about you than about me. And BTW : I am NOT a contributor, I am someone with a reasonable suggestion phrased under the very reasonable and polite subject line : "Some room for improvement?". So long and thanks for all the fish. P.S. My apologies to the webmaster for the unnecessary fuss that has been generated.
  12. That is a 'no-reply reply' If I ever saw one. I do not like negative arses. /out
  13. Another improvement for the editor that EveryOne would like : Make it possible to select all IRs that are used/not used in patches. That way it is SO much easier to clean up the unused IRs. Now, as I understand it, I have to make a list somewhere of all the irs used by going through the patches one by one to find out which ones are being used, and that is a lot of manual labour. What would also work is to put a marker next to the Irs in the editor list that are used in at least one patch. Problem solved!
  14. Thanks for the input so far people. More later.
  15. Hi all, I bought a Line 6 Pod Go about a month ago and coming from the ancient Boss GT-8 it is brilliant. There are three things that I think can be improved though so here they are. 1. The quality of the presets is terrible. I have been programming user patches and they sound absolutely great. When I now compare them to the standard presets I get the feeling that I am some kind of Super Programmer... 2. Line 6 gives the impression that there are 128 presets and 128 user patches. This may be technically correct, but a preset cannot be altered. This goes for every preset I have ever come across, and I have owned dozens of synths over the years. What you supply are default patches, not preset patches. What is such a shame about this is that the manual only mentions the fact that the presets can also be updated/altered/improved, just like the user patches, in one line in the manual. I would think that having 256 patches available would make the Pod Go even more desirable, so why not mention this more clearly in the docs? 3. Small thingy but very useful; If you address issue #3; there should be a way to change the words 'Factory' and 'User' into something else. For instance; I would like to be able to have banks under 'Live' and 'Studio' instead of 'Factory' and 'User'. That would be extremely useful because I can then clearly separate my patches that use the amp/cabs for studio use and the other ones for playing live. I can even make duplicates for both situations and store them at the same place in the two banks. 4. You really really REALLY should include a couple of IRs. The moment I started playing with IR's my Pod-life got immeasurably better. I know that there is a whole market out there for IRs and I am not saying that you should supply hundreds of them, but I think that if you include say a dozen of them, people will immediately hear the difference and start using more and more of them. Having said all this ; as a synth-/guitar-player, as well as a software developer who knows about the power of the processor, I was and am very impressed with what you have been able to achieve. And I am now going back again to programming the sh*t out of this machine! ;) What do you all think? Cheers, Rob.
