I would like to use my PG (FW 2.50) as an alternative to my Fractals on occasion, however there seems to be an issue with the output levels. The PG cannot provide the same undistorted clean output levels as my Fractals. I have my PG set up with FP volume knob set to control only the main outs and also have the main outs set to line level. The PG level is significantly lower compared to equivalent Fractal levels. For example, my FM3 out level is about 450 mVrms, measured on an oscilloscope, with the level just about into the red overdrive level on the FM3 built-in preset leveler. The clean signal is audibly undistorted running into my FRFR Go. The PG main output, with the volume knob at max, only gets up to about 175 mVrms before the clean signal begins to distort audibly, into the same FRFR Go with the controls unchanged. This is a factor of about 2.5 less than the FM3, and is nearly 1/10th the value of the line level +4dBU level of 1.228 VRMS, or 1228 mVrms. This could be significant if I want to use the PG at gigs, I'll need to either turn up my monitor/amp to compensate, resulting in less headroom than I would have available with the FM3, which is important when reproducing clean signals at gig levels, or use an external amplifier to boost the level out of the PG. I'd prefer to avoid either scenario. Is there some setting I'm missing in the PG? I've double-checked the settings and all is as expected. Anyone have any idea what is going on? EDIT FWIW I was thinking about this - I had used the PG with a previous band before I had my Fractals, and at one or two gigs when the band became loud I recall even with the monitor (Yamaha DBR10) at max I had difficulty in getting enough volume out of it to be heard. I haven't had this issue with the Fractals.

FWIW, from the Fractal FM3 manual (I have one as well as an FM9T): "Footswitches — The switches of the FM3 use our proprietary Solid State Switching (SSS™) technology, featuring extremely smooth, quiet, action, and no mechanical contacts to fail." I assume they use some forms of Hall effect sensing to eliminate mechanical contacts. I've been using my FM3 for 2 years and no issues. I do have a Pod Go and gigged it for more than a year with no issues. Then I bought the FM3...

Really enjoying my PE but the limitation of controlling only two fx blocks is annoying. On my Fractal devices there is a short/long switch press capability which allows expansion of switch functionality depending upon how long the switch is depressed. Would it be possible to shoehorn in some FW code to provide the short/long press detection capability and thereby provide control for 2 more fx blocks? Basically a timer loop started by the switch closure, and a comparison routine to determine if it is short or long press, as well as some sort of code mux to direct the control signals appropriately. For example, I currently have FS3 assigned to control gain annd FS4 to delay. I like to occasionally be able to turnn modulation on and off, and also reverb. Having effectively 2 more footswitches available via short/long press would be very useful: FS3 short/long, FS4 short/long. I could use the long presses for the mod and reverb controol, which I need less frequently.

Yep had switches fail on my Kemper Stage. I returned it for repair and they sent me a new Stage unit. Amazing!

FWIW my G10 battery is dying, but I found that my G30 belt pack transmitter will work with the G10 base receiver when the belt pack is set to channel 1, which is great because it uses AA batteries. I don't want to spend over $100 on a new G10 transmitter just to have it eventually die as well, so might as well use the G30 belt pack.

It may sound dumb, but I have a few well-tweaked presets on my Pod Go that do not exist on my Helix, and rather than recreate them in the Helix, I wanted to find out if there was some way to translate the Pod Go preset (what is it, .pgx or something) to Helix .hlx and then import it? I don't think Helix will directly accept the PG preset files. Appreciate the help. Thanks!

I've been using the Deluxe Compressor for my sustain needs (as explained by Jason Sadites at https://youtu.be/JWF9t-vds2Q). I'm trying to duplicate the Steely Dan "Peg" Jay Graydon solo guitar tone. Graydon used a Rivera-modified DR and an Orange Squeezer compressor. I get pretty close with a Minotaur to get into the Rivera mod region, the Deluxe Comp works pretty well, ut was wondering if there was a better choice for duplicating the Orange Squeezer tonality - Red Squeeze or Red Comp? Or at least how the OS was set for sensitivity, attack, release, mix, ratio, etc so I can try it on the Deluxe Comp?

Can G30 transmitter channel be set such that it may be used with a G10 receiver?

What is the actual PG screen size? I can't find a size value for it anywhere. I'm mulling an XL Stomp , which has a 2.4 inch screen, but the PG screen size is about as small as I care to go. The Stomp screen looks smaller to me.

Yeah... I picked up a used JTV89 and it looks like it will work for me, but it is beginning to become more of a thing now that my battery is not holding charge very well and I cannot find a L6 replacement. I will use the box as much as I can, but when there is limited space it may be an issue.

So... where can we find real L6 replacement batteries? Mine is dying, it does not hold charge for long in guitar. I need a replacement pronto. I do not want to have to use the box in some situations where floor space is limited. Also, are there any internal leakage paths when battery is in guitar that will drain minute amount of current? Maybe better to store out of guitar when not being used?

Yep that is good practice. Li-ion likes being at ~50% for long-term storage. And don't charge 'em until you need 'em. Minimizing charge/discharge cycles is also good for the battery life as well.
