Yeah, I saw the same news and it’s definitely a bummer if the Variax line is done for good. I’ve had a JTV-69 for years and still think it’s one of the most underrated tools for live gigs and recording — especially if you’re covering a lot of ground stylistically.

I still love my pedals, but the Helix has made gigging and recording way more efficient.

Once I installed the Line 6 drivers and hooked it up via USB, my DAW recognized it right away. Latency is decent for tracking guitar, and the tone options are super convenient without needing extra pedals. That said, it’s not quite on par with a dedicated interface for vocals or multi-input setups, but for a quick plug-and-play guitar rig, it’s solid. Definitely underrated in that department if you're mainly recording guitar and practicing.

The built-in IRs and amp variety are great, but I never would’ve known that from the marketing materials. It feels like Line 6 kind of buried the lead on what makes this amp stand out. With a bit more clarity and focus in the messaging, it could’ve reached a much wider audience. Still happy with mine, but I almost overlooked it because of that.
